Job summary

RGBSI in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is seeking a Test Lab Engineer / Senior Test Lab Engineer to lead lab activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams. You will develop and execute test plans to verify design intent and reliability for existing and future products, with emphasis on refrigeration systems and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong problem solving, excellent communication skills, and experience with lab documentation for ISO17025 accreditation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (4 years) is required.
• ME in Thermal or Refrigeration & Air-conditioning engineering (6–8 years) preferred.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of refrigeration systems and electrical/controls systems.
• Familiar with industry standards and ISO17025/ DOE/ ASHRAE/UL as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Resolve issues with cross-functional stakeholders on performance and customer expectations.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure design intent and reliability.
• Lead test lab projects and corrective actions related to product performance.
• Collaborate with product engineering to improve existing products for cost and performance.
• Experience with R290 refrigerant is a plus.
• Document for ISO17025 accreditation and comply with industry requirements.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities of Test Lab Engineer /Senior Test Lab Engineer :

• Work directly with cross-functional stakeholders & Internal engineers to resolve issues regarding performance, parts and customer expectations.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure design intent is met for existing and future products. Develop and execute test plans to ensure reliability specifications are met for existing and future products.
• Act as a lead in driving project, corrective actions in the Test Lab as they relate to product performance.
• Work with product engineering/ New product development team to conceptualize and implement improvements to existing product for cost reductions and performance improvements.
• Test experience in handling on R290 refrigerant is an added advantage
• Partner with appropriate teams to evaluate component and design alternatives that can be integrated into existing product for quality/cost improvements. Experience in Reliability testing on components & mini tab software for reliability application is preferred.
  Understand industry and regulatory requirements as they apply to existing and new products (i.e., DOE, ASHRAE 72, NSF 7, UL, etc.). To work on test lab documentation to get lab accredited for ISO17025. Demonstrating ISO 17025-2017 during audits.

Skill set of Sr. Test Lab Engineer :

• Should have excellent Communication both Verbal and written - Collaborate with entire organization.
• Should have in-depth Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical/controls systems and mechanical equipment's.
• Well versed with Industry standards, compliance, regulatory and certifications in the refrigeration industry
• Team player in Multidisciplinary Cross functional team. Collaboration with External partners /vendors for product developments & testing
