The role covers equipment maintenance, LIS data entry, quality control, biosafety, waste management, inventory, and coordination with staff to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, and process blood and other biological samples as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Perform routine laboratory investigations in areas such as haematology, biochemistry, clinical pathology, and serology, as per qualifications and assigned responsibilities.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and diagnostic instruments.
• Ensure proper sample identification, storage, transportation, and disposal.
• Maintain quality control records and participate in internal quality control procedures.
• Ensure accurate entry of patient details, test results, and other information in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Follow biosafety guidelines, infection control practices, and laboratory safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the laboratory and ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
• Monitor reagent stock, consumables, and expiry dates, and report shortages to the Lab In-charge.
• Identify and report abnormal results, sample discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and quality-related issues to the concerned supervisor.
• Coordinate with laboratory staff, phlebotomists, and other departments to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
• Maintain all laboratory registers, documentation, and records as required.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
