Job summary

Medanta laboratory is seeking personnel to support general responsibilities across Biochemistry, Haematology & Clinical Pathology, and Serology. The role includes accessioning samples, maintaining SOPs, entering results, and ensuring QA/QC across instruments, while protecting patient confidentiality and adhering to turnaround times.

Responsibilities

  • Accession and sort specimens, verify labeling, log samples, and reject those not meeting testing criteria while informing the OCC department.
  • Serve as a technical resource by participating in staff training.
  • Identify and communicate abnormal patient conditions and critical alerts, informing the Pathologist and Patient/Attendant. Obtain clinical history and correlate with sample for abnormal results.
  • Assist in the preparation of Test Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Enter test results via interfacing and save reports in IT dose for final approval by the Pathologist.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality by ensuring laboratory information remains secure.
  • Coordinate with service engineers in case of instrument breakdown.
  • Discard samples as per the sample retention policy.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to ensure uninterrupted testing.
  • Ensure test results are processed within the defined Turn-Around-Time (TAT).
  • Perform lot-to-lot verification of Quality Controls (QCs) and reagents.
  • Follow up on outsourced test reports sent by the lab.
  • Ensure TAT compliance for outsourced tests, and attach received reports to the IT dose.
  • Provide test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating chemistry equipment.
  • Maintain instruments as per the scheduled maintenance plan.
  • Run proficiency testing samples and maintain calibration records.
  • Enter QC summaries into designated files.
  • Ensure quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment functionality through routine maintenance and troubleshooting, calibrating instruments using approved procedures, and monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
  • Generate test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating haematology instruments.
  • Run EQAS samples for haematology testing.
  • Enter QC summaries into designated files.
  • Ensure quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment functionality through routine maintenance and troubleshooting, calibrating instruments using approved procedures, and monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
  • Perform rapid card tests to provide test results for patient diagnosis. Inform the lab head in case of positive test results and release results following the due procedure.
  • Run EQAS samples and enter QC summaries in the file.
  • Release HIV-positive test results only after confirmation per NACO guidelines, inform the Lab Head, and send the sample to the reference lab for confirmation.
