Job summary

Mavs Global in Chennai is seeking an experienced L2 Motherboard & Chipset Support Engineer to troubleshoot motherboard-level issues, perform chip-level debugging and drive root-cause analysis for hardware failures.

You will handle critical escalations related to BIOS, firmware and motherboard components, coordinate with Product Engineering, Quality and OEM partners, and contribute to new product introduction and field data analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience with motherboard troubleshooting and chip-level debugging.
• Strong knowledge of chipset architectures and BIOS/firmware issues.
• Ability to perform RCA and document findings.
• Experience coordinating with OEMs and vendors.
• Attention to hardware reliability and validation processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle L2 technical escalations related to motherboard and hardware issues.
• Perform chip-level and component-level troubleshooting of motherboards.
• Diagnose failures related to chipset, CPU, RAM, power circuits, BIOS and other motherboard components.
• Perform detailed failure analysis and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Troubleshoot BIOS, firmware and hardware compatibility issues.
• Identify recurring hardware failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Work with Product Engineering, Quality, R&D and OEM vendors for resolution.
• Support motherboard testing, validation and new product introduction.
• Analyse warranty/field failure data and identify recurring patterns.
• Prepare technical reports, RCA and CAPA documentation.
• Support service teams with guidance for complex motherboard failures.
• Participate in technical reviews with internal teams and OEM/manufacturing partners.
