Job summary

Saaki Argus And Averil Consulting seeks a skilled engineer to design and maintain Layer 3 control-plane features for LTE and 5G NR networks. The role involves implementing RRC/S1AP/X2AP/NGAP/etc protocol procedures, troubleshooting, and performance optimization on Linux-based systems.

You will work with C/C++, Python, and telecom data paths, analyze traces with Wireshark, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust call flows and interoperability across vendors.

Qualifications

Job description

Design, develop, and maintain Layer 3 control-plane features for LTE and 5G NR networks.Implement and enhance RRC, S1AP, X2AP, NGAP, F1AP, E1AP, and XnAP protocol procedures.Develop and troubleshoot 4G/5G procedures, including attach/registration, handover, re-establishment, carrier aggregation, dual connectivity, and mobility management.Work on RRC state transitions, measurement configuration, bearer signaling, security activation, paging, cell reselection, and radio link failure handling.Develop high-performance telecom software using C/C++ and Python.Implement state machines, memory management, error handling, and protocol decoding.Analyze protocol traces, Wireshark captures, system logs, and KPIs to identify and resolve defects.Troubleshoot interoperability issues across different UE, chipset, core network, and RAN vendors.Work on Linux-based environments, multithreading, inter-process communication, and performance optimization.Contribute to L3 data-path development involving GTP-U, DPDK, and VPP.Support virtualized RAN and Open RAN solutions, including CU/DU deployments.Collaborate with verification, core network, OAM, and customer support teams to validate call flows and failure-recovery scenarios.Drive defect resolution, production sustenance, customer issue analysis, and backward/forward compatibility across software releases.Review code, mentor engineering teams, and ensure high-quality software delivery.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver large-scale 4G/5G product development programs.
