Job Title: Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation solutions for infrastructure and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automation and workflow tools, strong infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to integrate systems to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance service delivery, and support infrastructure automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Python, or similar workflow/automation technologies.
• Integrate infrastructure systems and workflows with platforms such as ServiceNow to streamline service management processes.
• Work extensively with infrastructure tools and APIs to automate provisioning, monitoring, and operational activities.
• Monitor and improve service reliability by understanding and contributing to SLI (Service Level Indicators) and SLO (Service Level Objectives) tracking and reporting.
• Support and enhance notification and escalation frameworks to enable proactive issue resolution and automated incident management.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure seamless automation and process optimization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for infrastructure performance, availability, and reliability.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation practices where applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5-9 years of relevant experience in automation engineering, infrastructure automation, or related domains.
• Hands-on experience with automation/workflow tools such as Ansible, Python, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong experience with ServiceNow integrations and workflow automation.
• Good understanding of infrastructure tools, APIs, and system integrations.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure and operating system fundamentals.
• Awareness of SLI/SLO frameworks for service measurement and reporting.
• Knowledge of notification frameworks for escalation automation and incident handling.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to CI/CD tools and practices will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with cloud, DevOps, or infrastructure automation environments is preferred.
