Job summary

Bizmatics, a division of Harris Computer, is seeking a Junior UI Developer to design, develop, and enhance JSP-based web interfaces. The role focuses on building responsive UIs using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery, with emphasis on usability and accessibility.

You will convert designs from Figma into high-quality pages, integrate frontend components with Java-based services via REST APIs, and participate in agile ceremonies in a hybrid Mumbai setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
• Experience with jQuery plugins like DataTables, Datepicker, and Select2.
• Basic JSP/JSP-based application exposure and REST API integration is a plus.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React/Angular/Vue) is an added advantage.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend developers to build JSP-based interfaces.

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and creative Junior UI Developer with strong knowledge of jQuery and experience working with JSP (Java Server Pages)-based applications. The ideal candidate will assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing dynamic, responsive user interfaces for enterprise-level web applications, ensuring high usability, performance, and visual consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend Java developers to build and enhance JSP-based web interfaces.
• Convert Figma or design mockups into responsive web pages using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and JSP.
• Implement and customize jQuery plugins such as DataTables, Datepicker, Select2, Tooltips, and other interactive components.
• Maintain and update JSP templates and reusable UI components.
• Integrate frontend functionality with Java-based backend services using REST APIs.
• Perform cross-browser testing, debugging, and UI optimization for better performance.
• Ensure consistent design language and adhere to WCAG accessibility standards.
• Participate in sprint meetings, daily standups, and code reviews.

Required Skills & Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology,

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.

• Strong experience with jQuery plugins (e.g., DataTables, Datepicker, Select2, etc.).
• Basic understanding of JSP (Java Server Pages) and integration in Java-based web applications.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React.js / Angular / Vue.js (added advantage).
• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git/GitHub/SVN).
• Understanding of REST API integration in JSP or Java-based projects.
• Awareness of UI/UX principles and component-based design.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS/SCSS).
• Working knowledge of Bootstrap, Material UI, or Tailwind CSS.
• Exposure to Figma or similar design tools.
• Understanding of JSTL, Expression Language (EL), and custom JSP tags.
• Familiarity with Spring MVC or Struts frameworks.
