Last Minute Group is looking for an Accountant to join its Accountancy team in Bengaluru, India. This role involves contributing to accounting closings across various entities in Switzerland, Italy, and the UK, as well as overseeing general accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting or a related field, 2-3 years of relevant experience, and fluency in English and Italian. Experience with travel agency accounting and AI tools would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• At least 2‑3 years in a similar role and/or in an audit firm.
• Experience in travel agency accounting and tax legislation preferred.
• Basic proficiency with AI tools and interest in automating accounting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Perform accounting analyses and reporting.
• Review and modify accounting systems and procedures.
• Maintain fixed assets schedules.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Develop business processes and accounting policies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
• Assist with tax compliance, audits, and returns.

lastminute.com is looking for an Accountant for its Accountancy team based in India. The person, reporting to the Swiss Finance Manager, will contribute to the accounting closing of the different Swiss, Italian and UK entities of the Group and will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying the financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and other GL accounts
• Perform accounting analyses and reporting to support decision‑making purposes.
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Liaise with the Finance Manager to improve financial procedures
• Support the finance manager in the preparation of the several annual statutory financial statements
• Assure tax compliance and respect of tax deadlines
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Interact with internal and external auditors

Skills and Experience

• Certificate or Degree in Accounting/Business/Economics or in a similar field
• At least 2‑3 years in a similar role and/or in an audit firm
• Fluency in English and Italian
• Good Office knowledge

Desirable

• Experience in travel agency accounting and tax legislation
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central (NAV) ERP software
• Experience in one of the big4 audit firms will be considered a plus
• Basic proficiency with AI tools and a strong interest in how AI can automate accounting workflows
