ALTEN India, Chennai, is seeking a BIW Design Engineer with 3–5 years of automotive BIW experience to design upper and lower body structures and closures using CATIA V5. You will develop master sections, conduct feasibility studies, and work with styling teams to translate concepts into manufacturable parts.

Responsibilities include optimizing designs for weight, cost, and manufacturability, applying GD&T, and liaising with supplier teams for validation and release.

Qualifikationen

• 3–5 years of experience in Automotive BIW design using CATIA V5.
• Strong knowledge of BIW design and body structure development from concept to production.
• Able to develop master sections and conduct feasible studies.
• Collaborates with styling teams to convert designs into manufacturable parts.

Key Requirement

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Automotive BIW Design using CATIA V5
• Strong knowledge of BIW design and development of body structure from concept to production stage
• Able to develop master sections and feasible study
• Ability to work with styling teams to convert design concepts into manufacturable parts.
• Good understanding of sheet metal parts material, manufacturing process, assembly, crashworthiness
• Good knowledge in GD&T, sheet metal tolerance, DFM & DFA
• Optimize the designs for weight reduction, cost efficiency and manufacturing without compromising the performance
• Provide design solutions based on CAE feedback
• Ability to take independent technical decisions based on engineering requirement
• Liaison with supplier teams for validation and release.
• Experience in benchmarking, packaging studies, and defining optimal design solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, project management & communication skills.
