Job summary

Capco in Vadodara seeks a Senior SDET to design and implement automated testing for Java-based services and microservices in a Kubernetes environment. The role focuses on API, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure quality and production readiness.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of hands-on testing, strong Java and Spring Boot experience, and expertise in CI/CD, REST Assured, and SQL. This is a hybrid position based at the client office in Vadodara.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software testing experience with strong test automation development.
• Strong programming experience in Java for automation framework development.
• Solid understanding of Spring Boot, Java Microservices, REST APIs and distributed testing.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker validation.
• Experience with REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, Mockito, and API automation.
• CI/CD integration using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Strong SQL and backend data validation skills.
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and test reporting tools.
• Understanding of microservices testing strategies, contract/integration/regression automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based test automation frameworks for Spring Boot microservices.

Senior SDET - Test Automation Engineer

Location: Vadodara (Client office, Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Java-based test automation, Spring Boot Microservices, API testing, and Kubernetes-based application validation. The role will be responsible for designing and implementing robust automated testing frameworks to ensure the quality, reliability, and production readiness of MDES applications undergoing modernization and regional deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based test automation frameworks for Spring Boot microservices.
• Own API, integration, regression, and end-to-end automation testing strategies.
• Validate microservices functionality, service integrations, and application behavior in Kubernetes environments.
• Develop automated tests to verify application behavior before and after Kubernetes migration.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality validation.
• Design and execute tests for region-specific configurations, application customizations, and deployment scenarios.
• Validate service resilience, error handling, asynchronous processing, and data integrity.
• Perform database validation, API contract testing, and backend integration testing.
• Collaborate with backend developers, Tech Leads, and platform teams to identify and resolve defects.
• Drive automation coverage, test reliability, defect prevention, and continuous quality improvements.
• Support deployment verification, smoke testing, and production readiness assessments.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 5–8 years of software testing experience with significant hands-on test automation development.
• Strong programming experience in Java for automation framework development.
• Solid understanding of Spring Boot, Java Microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed application testing.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including deployment validation, pod logs, service connectivity, and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, Mockito, and API automation.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD integration using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating backend data.
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and test reporting tools.
• Understanding of microservices testing strategies, contract testing, integration testing, and regression automation. Preferred Skills
• Experience with Cucumber/BDD, WireMock, Testcontainers, and Pact.
• Familiarity with Kafka/event-driven testing.
• Exposure to performance testing using JMeter, Gatling, or similar tools.
• Payments, digital transactions, or financial services testing experience.
• Experience testing applications during Kubernetes migration and regional rollouts.
