Job summary

Virtusa is seeking an experienced Backend Architect in Chennai to design and implement scalable backend systems using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and AWS. You will lead microservices development, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes and API gateway usage.

The role requires 5.5–10 years of hands-on experience and strong SQL with MySQL, plus familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk or Dynatrace. On-site work in Chennai is expected.

Experience :- 5.5 Years to 10 Years

Java & Frameworks Extensive experience building robust applications using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, and AWS, Kafka, MyBatis

Frontend Development Advanced UI engineering utilizing React , JavaScript HTML and CSS

Microservices & Containerization Designing, deploying and orchestrating scalable microservices utilizing Docker Kubernetes OpenShift and Docker Swarm

Deep knowledge of microservice routing and discovery components including API Gateway, Eureka, Ribbon, and Zuul

Cloud Infrastructure Hands-on expertise with AWS Development Services

Database Management Strong SQL foundation with mandatory proficiency in MySQL

DevOps & Testing Solid background in SDLC DevOps Foundation, utilizing JUnit and Mockito for reliable testing

Experience with modern monitoring and development tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and GitHub Copilot

Preferred/Nice-to-Have Skills

• Messaging & Streaming Implementation of event-driven architectures and real-time streaming using Apache Kafka and ActiveMQ
