Job description

We are looking for a Java Developer with 5+ years of core backend engineering experience to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable microservices using Spring Boot, handling high-throughput event processing using Apache Kafka, and leveraging real-time data streaming technologies. You will work across the software lifecycle to deliver resilient, production-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Core Backend Architecture: Design, build, and maintain production-ready microservices using Java (11/17+) and Spring Boot.
• Event-Driven Messaging: Implement asynchronous processing and pub/sub messaging patterns using Apache Kafka (Producers, Consumers, Consumer Groups, Offsets, and DLQ handling).
• Real-Time Data Streaming: Build and maintain live data stream workflows using Kafka Streams or equivalent streaming technologies (e.g., KSQLDB, Flink, Spark Streaming).
• Data & API Management: Design REST APIs and integrate with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL/Caching layers (MongoDB, Redis).
• Distributed Systems Quality: Apply patterns such as Circuit Breakers (Resilience4j), API Gateways, Saga, and CQRS to ensure system fault tolerance.
• Testing & CI/CD: Write unit/integration tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers. Deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes in CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentorship & Code Review: Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior developers in best practices.

Key Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java software development.
• Frameworks: Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Cloud.
• Messaging & Eventing: 2+ years of practical experience with Apache Kafka in production environments.
• Databases: Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), query optimization, and caching solutions (Redis).
• Containerization: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes basics, and cloud-native application deployment.
