BEST-FIT Recruitment Riders in Bharuch invites an IT Officer to join our client's manufacturing campus. The role covers IT projects, hardware upkeep, networking, software installation, and plant IT support to ensure minimal downtime.

The candidate should hold Diploma/BE/BTech/BCA/MCA with 3–5 years' experience in IT, preferably in manufacturing. You will coordinate with vendors, manage assets, and uphold security and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in IT support, infrastructure, networking and software installation.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT projects and installation for plant and office facilities.

Role & responsibilities:

IT Projects & Installation:

• Plan and execute IT infrastructure installation projects for the manufacturing plant and office areas.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning of computers, servers, network equipment, printers, CCTV-related IT infrastructure, Wi-Fi systems, access points and other IT equipment.
• Prepare IT infrastructure requirements for new departments, offices, production areas and expansion projects.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and service providers for IT equipment installation and commissioning.
• Ensure timely completion of IT projects as per approved specifications and schedules.
• Prepare project documentation, installation reports, equipment records and handover documents.
• Inspect and verify installed IT equipment and infrastructure before final handover.

Hardware Support & Maintenance:

• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, UPS and other IT peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware failures and performance issues.
• Carry out preventive maintenance of IT hardware and infrastructure.
• Maintain records of IT assets, hardware specifications, warranty details and service history.
• Coordinate with OEMs/service providers for warranty and repair-related issues.
• Ensure proper tagging and inventory control of IT assets.

Networking:

• Install, configure and maintain LAN / WAN infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points and other network devices.
• Handle IP addressing, LAN connectivity, network cabling and basic network security.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, speed and communication issues.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers and networking vendors for connectivity-related issues.
• Maintain network diagrams and relevant technical documentation.
• Monitor network performance and ensure reliable connectivity across the plant.

Software Installation & Support:

• Install, configure and update Windows operating systems and required application software.
• Install and configure ERP, office applications, antivirus, drivers and other authorized software.
• Provide technical support to users for software-related issues.
• Manage software installation, upgrades, patches and updates as per company requirements.
• Maintain records of licensed software and software installations.
• Ensure only authorized and approved software is installed on company systems.

Manufacturing Plant IT Support:

• Provide prompt IT support to Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Stores, HR, Finance and other departments.
• Support IT infrastructure required for manufacturing and plant operations.
• Coordinate with relevant departments for IT requirements during new equipment/project installation.
• Ensure minimum downtime of critical IT systems and infrastructure.
• Provide support during plant expansion, new equipment installation and system commissioning.

IT Security & Data Protection

• Implement basic IT security practices as directed by the IT Head / Management.
• Ensure antivirus, operating system and security updates are maintained.
• Support user access control, password policies and system security requirements.
• Ensure proper backup procedures are followed for important data and systems.
• Report any suspected security incidents, unauthorized access or data loss immediately.

Vendor & Service Provider Management:

• Coordinate with IT hardware, networking, software and AMC vendors.
• Obtain technical quotations and assist in technical evaluation of IT equipment / services.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and breakdown services.
• Verify vendor work and ensure satisfactory completion before closing service requests.
• Maintain AMC, warranty and service-related records.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain IT asset register and inventory records.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP address records and infrastructure documentation.
• Prepare installation and commissioning reports.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records.
• Maintain software and hardware installation records.
• Prepare daily/monthly IT support and project status reports.
• Maintain IT-related SOPs, checklists and work instructions.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech / BCA / MCA (Computer Science / Computer Engineering / IT) with 3 to 5 years experience in in IT support, IT infrastructure, networking, hardware and software installation.
• Relevant certifications in Networking, Hardware or IT Infrastructure will be an advantage.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment will be preferred.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in IT project installation and plant infrastructure setup will be given preference
