Job summary

Gif Technologies in Nagpur, Maharashtra seeks an IT Infrastructure & Security Specialist to manage and maintain network and server infrastructure, including AD, DNS/DHCP, backups and DR planning.

Role requires Hyper-V virtualization, end-user support leadership, patching, MFA, endpoint protection and access controls across on‑premises and cloud-integrated environments.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, Wi‑Fi, LAN/WAN and internet connectivity.
• Manage Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file servers, application servers and other core IT services.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity and system health.
• Manage virtualization platforms such as Hyper‑V and related infrastructure.
• Ensure regular backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes are in place and tested.
• Manage IT assets, hardware, software licenses and inventory.
• Provide leadership and support to the IT/helpdesk team and ensure timely resolution of user issues.
• Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures and documentation.
• Work with vendors, ISPs and external IT service providers when required.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology projects.
• Ensure systems are properly patched, updated and maintain

IT Security Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain practical IT security best practices across infrastructure and end-user systems.
• Manage firewall rules, VPN access, endpoint protection and access controls.
• Maintain appropriate user access, permissions and account management practices.
• Support implementation of MFA, password policies, endpoint security and security awareness initiatives.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to security alerts and incidents.
• Ensure timely application of security patches and updates.
• Maintain secure backup and recovery practices.
• Work with management/security teams on vulnerability remediation and security audits.
• Help ensure IT operations comply with applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPN and Wi‑Fi.
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls and network security.
• Strong experience managing Windows Server environments.
• Good knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365/Azure AD/Entra ID or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper‑V.
• Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting IT infrastructure.
• Good understanding of endpoint security, patch management and access control.
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and cloud security.
• Familiarity with IT service management and ticketing systems.
