Job summary

Merck Group in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Delivery Manager to oversee IT projects for Manufacturing, Quality and OT. You will manage Data Historian and middleware platforms, coordinate external vendors, and drive roadmaps while ensuring compliant documentation and ITIL-aligned service management.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial IT delivery, strong scripting, and a proactive, globally-minded team player with English fluency. Remote collaboration with international teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or a natural science degree with strong IT knowledge.
• Minimum 5 years as a delivery manager in an industrial IT environment with manufacturing/quality scope.
• Hands-on experience with Data Historian systems such as Aspentech IP.21; Kepware/SCADA/MES exposure is a plus.
• Strong scripting and querying skills; automation and reporting capabilities.
• Self-motivated, autonomous, with ownership and service attitude.
• Continuous learner with broad IT/OT knowledge and English proficiency; ITIL certification preferred.

Your Role

• Within this role you deliver IT projects and services for business applications in the Manufacturing, Quality and Operations Technology domain.
• You support IT applications with a special focus on Data Historian and middleware platforms, such as Kepware or Inmation.
• You are in charge of a number of ITIL defined processes such as service requests, change management, disaster recovery, life cycle, incident and problem management.
• You manage external suppliers and contractors to secure project support and business continuity according to service level agreements.
• In cooperation with project teams, you drive the execution of related IT project roadmaps as major aspect of your job.
• Together with other Solution Architects you will define the technical design of the IT solutions and you contribute to process standardization and optimization
• As part of your daily work, you ensure proper documentation of all activities performed in projects and during service management (e.g. qualification documents, work instructions, change requests, vulnerability management, etc.).
• In your role as Qualification Owner, you will be accountable for all compliance aspects of dedicated of GxP relevant systems.
  
  

Who You Are

• You hold a Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or a natural science degree combined with strong IT knowledge
• Experienced delivery manager with a minimum of 5 years relevant practice and exposure to an industrial IT environment with clear responsibilities, ideally for manufacturing, supply chain or quality systems
• You have comprehensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience of Data Historian systems such as Aspentech IP.21, Aveva PI. Exposure to near OT data systems such as Kepware, SCADA, MES is a plus.
• You have solid expertise in scripting and querying and how to use it in automation and reporting
• You are a self-motivated, highly engaged and autonomous individual with a strong ownership and service attitude.
• You are a continuous learner, always eager to understand the technical background of system behavior and to stay up-to-date with latest technology
• You are a Team player who is used to work remotely in an international organization. Thoroughly familiar with current IT/OT industry trends for manufacturing and underlying technology. You possess broad IT infrastructure knowledge (i.e. OS, DB, system hardening, etc.) , solid presentation and communication skills and a solid foundation in IT service management methodology (preferably ITIL certification).
• Excellent command of written and spoken English. Business fluent Spanish, French, German or Chinese is a plus.
