Job summary

Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, seeks an experienced Delivery Manager to lead IT projects and services for manufacturing, quality, and operations technology. Focus on MES like PAS-X, and manage ITIL processes.

You'll collaborate with solution architects to define technical designs and drive standardization while ensuring thorough documentation and cross-border collaboration in a remote-capable environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or natural science with strong IT knowledge.
• Minimum 5 years of delivery management experience in an industrial IT environment with responsibilities in manufacturing, supply chain or quality systems.
• Experience with Koerber PAS-X; knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is desirable.
• Solid scripting and querying skills for automation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver IT projects and services for business applications in Manufacturing, Quality and Operations Technology.
• Support IT applications with focus on Manufacturing Execution Systems, e.g. PAS-X.
• Manage ITIL defined processes like service requests, change management, disaster recovery, incidents and problems.

• Define technical design with Solution Architects and contribute to process standardization and optimization.
• Document activities and changes (qualification docs, work instructions, change requests, vulnerability management).
• Accountable for compliance aspects of GxP relevant systems as Qualification Owner.

Your role :

• Within this role you deliver IT projects and services for business applications in the Manufacturing, Quality and Operations Technology domain.
• You support IT applications with a special focus on Manufacturing Execution Systems, such as Pas-X
• You are in charge of a number of ITIL defined processes such as service requests, change management, disaster recovery, life cycle, incident and problem management.
• You manage external suppliers and contractors to secure project support and business continuity according to service level agreements.
• Together with other Solution Architects you will define the technical design of the IT solutions and you contribute to process standardization and optimization
• As part of your daily work, you ensure proper documentation of all activities performed in projects and during service management (e.g. qualification documents, work instructions, change requests, vulnerability management, etc.).
• In your role as Qualification Owner, you will be accountable for all compliance aspects of dedicated of GxP relevant systems

Who you are:

• You hold a Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or a natural science degree combined with strong IT knowledge
• Experienced delivery manager with a minimum of 5 years relevant practice and exposure to an industrial IT environment with clear responsibilities, ideally for manufacturing, supply chain or quality systems
• You have comprehensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience of Koerber PAS-x system, ideally you have experience with Kubernetes and Docker technology. You have a solid understanding OT system architecture landscape and its components.
• You have solid expertise in scripting and querying and how to use it in automation and reporting
• You are a self-motivated, highly engaged and autonomous individual with a strong ownership and service attitude.
• You are a continuous learner, always eager to understand the technical background of system behavior and to stay up-to-date with latest technology
• You are a Team player who is used to work remotely in an international organization. Thoroughly familiar with current IT/OT industry trends for manufacturing and underlying technology. You possess broad IT infrastructure knowledge (i.e. OS, DB, system hardening, etc.) , solid presentation and communication skills and a solid foundation in IT service management methodology (preferably ITIL certification).
• Excellent command of written and spoken English. Business fluent Spanish, French, German or Chinese is a plus.
