As we continue to expand our global product capabilities across Australia, the UK, Europe, India, and the United States, we are seeking a Senior iOS Developer (5-8 years of work experience) to help build, scale, and maintain our high-performing mobile applications.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site iOS App Developer (SwiftUI) role based in Bengaluru. As a Senior iOS Developer at Merchmix, you will take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining robust, high-quality iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and QA—to deliver intuitive, reliable, and scalable mobile experiences for our clients.

You will lead technical discussions, architect complex features, mentor junior engineers, and help enforce clean coding standards across the mobile engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobile Architecture & Development: Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in Swift and SwiftUI. Architect scalable iOS mobile solutions that align with industry best practices.
• UI/UX Implementation: Translate design specifications into intuitive, responsive, and seamless user interfaces using SwiftUI.
• API Integration: Integrate, optimize, and consume RESTful APIs and third-party libraries/services to support core backend workflows.
• Performance & Quality Assurance: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs, memory leaks, crashes, and performance bottlenecks to ensure security, scalability, and platform reliability.
• Code Reviews & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior/mid-level iOS developers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate actively with product managers, backend developers, designers, and QA teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Agile Execution: Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, task estimation, and technical breakdown discussions.
• Technical Ownership: Lead technical discussions, contribute to application architectural decisions, and stay up to date with Swift advancements, SwiftUI features, and iOS trends.

Required Experience & Skills

• Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in native iOS application development using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Mobile Mastery: Strong proficiency in SwiftUI, Swift, mobile app architectural patterns (MVVM/VIPER), and core iOS frameworks.
• API Integration: Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs, handling JSON data, and managing network/caching logic.
• Tooling & Version Control: Proficient with Git version control, branching strategies, and Xcode profiling tools.
• Software Engineering Principles: Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, mobile security best practices, and memory management.
• Problem Solving: Excellent analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with App Store deployment workflows, CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps, and TestFlight administration.
• Familiarity with offline storage, local caching strategies, and WebSocket/real-time data synchronization.
• Exposure to B2B SaaS applications or retail/inventory enterprise products.
• Understanding of UI/UX design tools (Figma/Adobe XD) and human interface guidelines.
