Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation in Chennai is seeking a Sr Process Executive to execute and optimize logistics and transportation management operations for global clients. The role focuses on shipment planning, tracking and exception handling within a hybrid, night-shift model to ensure service quality, cost efficiency and process accuracy.

You will support continuous improvement of logistics workflows, monitor KPIs, and contribute to reliable and sustainable supply chain performance

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with transportation management systems: shipment creation, tendering, status updates and exception handling.
• Experience with road and intermodal concepts: lanes, transit times, equipment types, consolidation.
• Analytical skills to interpret logistics data, identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Ability to work independently and in hybrid, night-shift environments with remote/on-site stakeholders.
• Adherence to procedures, recording actions in TMS and maintaining audit-ready docs.
• Clear written and verbal communication with internal teams and external partners.
• Willingness to learn new TMS features and adjust workflows to client needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily TMS activities for accurate shipment planning, tendering and execution across integrated logistics workflows.
• Coordinate with internal operations and external partners to resolve shipment exceptions and delays.
• Monitor shipment milestones and documentation in the TMS, ensuring data integrity and proactive issue escalation.
• Analyze logistics data to identify recurring gaps and opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Apply road and intermodal transport knowledge to support routing decisions and capacity utilization.
• Execute standardized workflows and procedures while complying with client guidelines.
• Collaborate with customer service, planning and finance to align logistics with broader supply chain goals.
• Support continuous improvement by documenting issues and proposing process enhancements.
• Use reporting tools and dashboards to track KPIs and prepare concise operational summaries.
• Maintain high data entry quality and accuracy to minimize rework and support audit readiness.
• Adapt to night shift and hybrid work with structured handovers and resilient workflows.
• Share knowledge by documenting best practices and assisting new team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily transportation management system activities to ensure accurate shipment planning tendering and execution across integrated logistics workflows supporting reliable delivery performance for client operations and end customers.
• Coordinate closely with internal operations teams and external logistics partners to resolve shipment exceptions and delays maintaining clear communication and timely updates that protect service quality and client commitments.
• Monitor shipment status milestones and documentation within the transportation management system ensuring data integrity and proactive issue escalation to reduce operational risks and avoid avoidable costs.
• Analyze logistics data and transaction patterns in the transportation management system to identify recurring process gaps and improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Apply knowledge of road and intermodal transportation practices to support routing decisions mode selection and capacity utilization contributing to more sustainable and cost effective logistics solutions where domain exposure is available.
• Execute standardized process workflows and operating procedures for integrated logistics maintaining strict adherence to compliance requirements and client specific guidelines to safeguard operational reliability.
