Job summary

Ashar Urban Futures Lab, Mumbai/Thane, seeks an Investments Lead to own evaluation, structuring, and portfolio management of UFL's capital deployment and to build UFL's relationships with funds, venture studios, and family offices.

You will drive deal sizing, structure term sheets with legal counsel, evolve the portfolio model with scenario analysis, manage the IC process end to end, and provide ongoing portfolio support by unlocking Ashar Group's testbeds, network, and customer base.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or startup finance - real estate/infrastructure exposure is a strong plus
• An existing network across VC funds, venture studios, and family offices in India - or a credible track record of building one quickly
• Rigorous, first-principles approach to valuation and deal structuring. You derive numbers, you don't accept them at face value
• Comfortable being the person in the room who asks the hard question on a promising pitch
• Experience building & working with financial models, cap tables, and term sheets

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation of inbound cohort applications and growth-stage opportunities - market sizing, unit economics, founder assessment, cap table and valuation analysis
• Structure term sheets and investment terms (equity, tranches, milestone gating) in partnership with legal counsel
• Own and evolve portfolio model - scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, IC decision tracking
• Manage the IC process end to end: memo preparation, presentation, and follow-through on decisions
• Provide ongoing portfolio support to funded companies - unlocking Ashar Group's testbeds, network, and customer base for pilots and validation
• Build and actively maintain relationships with other venture funds and family offices - creating a live network UFL can call on for co-investment, follow-on rounds, and future exits or secondary sales of portfolio stakes

Ashar Urban Futures Lab is building India's first venture studio dedicated to the built environment - PropTech, ConTech, UrbanTech, Climate Infrastructure. Investments Lead

LOCATION: Mumbai / Thane

REPORTS TO: Founder & Director, UFL
