Intern, Talent Acquisition [Human Resources]
Position Summary
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition
The Talent Acquisition Intern will play a vital role in supporting the talent acquisition function within Teach For India. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in human resources, specifically in talent acquisition. The intern will gain valuable hands‑on experience by assisting with various hiring activities and contributing to the overall talent acquisition strategy.
Team Overview
The Talent Acquisition team at Teach For India falls under the larger National Human Resources team and works towards building a talent pipeline for all Staff roles, creating & executing a smooth selection process and fulfilling the hiring needs of over 25 verticals at Teach For India. We value operational excellence, attention to detail, compelling communication and sound decision making and judgment.
Responsibilities
As an Intern, Talent Acquisition
- Ensuring that applications are reviewed and applicants are responded to within prescribed timelines.
- Conducting screening, phone reviews, interviews and also ensure interviews are conducted by the hiring teams with an objective to minimize Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Conducting reference checks effectively and within prescribed timelines.
- Updating key hiring information on our internal systems (Salesforce).
- Maintaining timely and consistent communication with hiring managers.
- Partnering with applicants in their journey through timely communication and feedback.
- Creating digital communication collaterals for the Talent Acquisition team including but not limited to infographics, presentations, resource toolkits etc.
- Liaising with internal teams/stakeholders to collect and collate information.
As an Intern at Teach For India
- Contributing to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities.
- Driving internal alignment and support for Teach For India’s core Programs.
- Serving as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after committing time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply.
- Supporting with key organizational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, Movement Building.
Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and drive alignment towards shared outcomes.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to learn quickly, take ownership, and adapt to new tasks.
- Brings fresh ideas, creativity, and a willingness to experiment with new approaches.
- Working proficiency in Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides).
- Access to a personal laptop with a stable internet connection.
- Availability to commit 8 hours per day, 5 days a week .
- Preferred internship duration: Minimum 3 months , with a possibility to extend the internship basis performance and team requirements.
- Prior volunteering experience with Teach For India is preferred but not mandatory.
