Reporting To: Head – Operations Excellence / Industrial Engineering
Internship Duration: 6 Months
Role Objective
To support the Operations Excellence team in driving productivity improvement, mechanization, automation, layout optimization, continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. The intern will gain hands‑on exposure to Industrial Engineering tools, Lean Manufacturing principles, and project execution while contributing to operational excellence projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Improvement & Industrial Engineering
- Assist in conducting time studies, work studies, and motion studies.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Assist in identifying and eliminating Non‑Value‑Added (NVA) activities.
Key Deliverables

- Improved process flow and standardized work practices
- Mechanization & Automation Projects
- Support execution of mechanization and automation projects across operations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors during project implementation.
- Assist in machine trials, validation, documentation, and performance tracking.
- Monitor project timelines and maintain implementation trackers.

- Assist in preparing and updating shop‑floor layouts using AutoCAD or equivalent software.

- Assist in material flow analysis and workstation balancing.

Education
- Final Year or Pre-final Year B.E./B.Tech or pursuing Master's in:

Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering concepts
- Knowledge of Time Study, Motion Study, Line Balancing, and Process Mapping
- AutoCAD (preferred)
- Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Power BI (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a cross‑functional environment
