Job summary

ISTO Furniture LLP in India seeks an Interior Designer to craft creative, functional interiors for commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, and turnkey projects. You will lead concept development, space planning, material selection, and client coordination, translating requirements into manufacturable designs.

You will balance aesthetics with budgets and timelines, coordinate with drafting, production, and execution teams, and develop 2D/3D visuals and BOMs to support proposals and project

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Furniture Design, or related field.
• 2–10 years of experience in modular furniture and interiors.
• Experience with turnkey projects incl. office/retail/hospitality.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and PowerPoint; familiarity with IMOS/PYTHA is a plus.

The Interior Designer is responsible for developing creative and functional interior design solutions for commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, and turnkey furniture projects. The role includes concept development, space planning, material selection, client coordination, presentation preparation, and coordination with technical and execution teams.

The Interior Designer must balance aesthetics, functionality, budget, manufacturing feasibility, and project timelines while ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Concept Development & Design

• Develop interior design concepts based on client requirements
• Prepare:
  • Mood boards

  • CNC-ready drawing references where required
• Create BOM and material detailing support drawings

2. Space Planning & Technical Coordination

• Prepare optimized layout plans
• Ensure functionality, ergonomics, and circulation efficiency
• Coordinate with Draftsmen for technical detailing
• Ensure designs are technically feasible for manufacturing and execution
• Review shop drawings and technical submissions

3. Client Coordination

• Conduct client meetings and requirement discussions
• Present concepts, layouts, and material selections
• Support design revisions and approvals
• Build positive client relationships throughout project execution

4. Material & Finish Selection

• Select:
  • Laminates
  • Veneers
  • Fabrics
  • Hardware
  • Lighting concepts
  • Finishes and accessories
• Coordinate with Procurement and Vendors for samples and specifications
• Ensure materials align with project budgets and timelines

5. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with Operations and Site teams during execution
• Conduct site visits where required
• Ensure design intent is maintained during execution
• Resolve design-related site issues
• Support timely project completion
• Prepare high-quality presentations and client proposals
• Develop 2D and 3D visualizations
• Create rendered views and walkthrough concepts where required
• Support business development through presentation materials

7. Design Documentation

• Maintain design libraries and material databases
• Support BOM and specification documentation

Required Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in:

• Interior Design
• Furniture Design
• or related field

2–10 years of experience in:

• Modular furniture
• Commercial interiors
• Residential interiors
• Turnkey projects

Preferred Industry Experience:

• Office interiors
• Retail interiors
• Hospitality interiors
• Furniture manufacturing
• Fit-out companies

Strong working knowledge of:

• AutoCAD
• Microsoft PowerPoint

Preferred:

• IMOS
• PYTHA
• ERP systems such as Odoo

Fluent in English and Hindi
