Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Technical Architect for OTM and ControLOG configuration within the Run teams. You will own configuration quality, drive standards, and ensure consistent delivery across internal teams and subcontractors.

You'll translate solution designs into accurate OTM/TMS configurations, lead internal and external specialists, and resolve complex issues while collaborating with Solution, Engineering, Data, and Project teams to continuously improve processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in OTM, TMS implementation, or logistics systems configuration.
• Proven experience leading configuration teams or workstreams.
• Strong understanding of OTM configuration objects and functional flows.

The Technical Architect is the senior authority for OTM and ControLOG configuration within the Run teams. Positioned between the Solution Leads and the Configuration Specialists, the Technical Architect owns configuration quality, drives standard adherence, and ensures consistent delivery across both internal teams and subcontractor resources. The role combines broad logistics and system understanding with solid OTM expertise, acting as the functional guardian for all configuration execution.

How you create impact

Configuration Governance & Quality

• Translate solution designs into accurate OTM/TMS configurations
• Ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to KN standards
• Validate configurations before SIT/UAT.

Team & Subcontractor Leadership

• Lead and coordinate internal and subcontractor Configuration Specialists
• Allocate work, provide coaching, and monitor quality, timelines, and SLAs

Subject Matter Expertise

• Resolve complex configuration and functional issues
• Provide expertise across OTM/TMS, transport processes, rates, planning, automation, and exceptions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Solution, Engineering, Testing, Data, Integration, and Project teams
• Support risk identification, progress tracking, and issue resolution

Continuous Improvement

• Improve configuration processes, tools, and standards
• Drive knowledge sharing and standardization across teams

What we would like you to bring

• 7+ years in OTM, TMS implementation, or logistics systems configuration
• Proven experience leading configuration teams or workstreams
• Strong understanding of OTM configuration objects and functional flows
• Vendor/subcontractor management experience strongly preferred
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical capability
• Strong communication and ability to translate functional design into actionable configuration tasks
• Leadership without formal authority — coaching skills, oversight, and quality control
• Understanding of broader logistics domain (transport, warehousing, automation, master data)
• Comfortable working in hybrid teams (internal + external partners)
• Proactive risk identification and ownership orientation
• Stakeholder management and cross-cultural communication
• Strong SQL/data interpretation is an advantage
