Job summary

MetLife seeks an operations professional to support billing and remittance processes across multiple product lines. You will review bills, resolve issues, reconcile suspense accounts, and ensure accurate payment application while maintaining effective communication with internal teams and external customers.

The role requires the ability to work under pressure, adapt to shift changes, and contribute to process improvements with a focus on service quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Graduation in any stream required.
  • 1 year in a BPO insurance environment preferred.
  • 0-4 years of operations experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job description

Essential Functions

Process billing and remittance related services for various MetLife products across Regional Business and National and Specialty Markets including below:

  • Bill review and release
  • Billing issue resolution
  • D&U and Suspense reconciliation
  • Payment application
  • Refund processing
  • Ensure that the allocated inventory/task is completed within recommended timelines and accuracy thresholds
  • Build excellent business relationship with customer groups, peers and seniors
  • Able to work as a natural team-player in the business functions
  • Maintain cordial communication with internal and external stakeholder with regards to process and issue resolution
  • Provide inputs on process and system to the team members
  • Responds promptly and calmly to changing events and situations
  • Effectively responds to actions and reactions when faced with difficult situations, negativity in the workplace, or corporate policies that may not be agreed with
Education
  • College (Graduation in any stream)
Experience
  • Professional from the Operations with at least 0-4 years of working experience of which at least 1 year work experience in a BPO operations environment in the specific insurance sector
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and willingness to obtain functional knowledge and understanding of business procedure and policies
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to improve the delivery of service to internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stress
  • Ability to work various shifts within hours of operation. Flexibility is a must, as your shift can/will change to meet business needs
  • Should have Problem Solving/Analytical Ability along with ‘Judgment and Decision Making’ skills
  • High energy and resilience level
  • Strong computing skills. Keyboarding and data entry speed (minimum 30 wpm with 90% accuracy)
  • Self-initiated, drive and zeal for continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of the function, process and systems
  • Basic knowledge of MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Clear written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholder including end customers. Proficient in E-mail management.
  • Knowledge of Insurance principles in relation to the US Insurance industry

  • Team Leader/Assistant Manager/Unit Manager for the purpose of reporting performance, clarifying concerns, and seeking feedback and support.
  • Manager for the purpose of settling issues left unresolved by the TL/AM/UM and monthly evaluation of performance.
  • Quality Compliance Analyst (QCA) for the purpose of feedback and audit.
  • Trainers for the purpose of process training.
  • Associates for handling day-to-day execution of transactions and process activities with respect to the process.
