Job summary

Ramky Sustainability Solutions Hyderabad is seeking an instrumentation engineer with strong expertise in WTP/WWTP/ETP/LTP instrumentation. You will review diagrams, select instruments, prepare datasheets, and coordinate with vendors and PLC/SCADA programmers.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of instrumentation engineering for WTP, WWTP, ETP, and LTP.
• Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, ABB, Mitsubishi).
• Experience with SCADA/HMI systems.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
• Calibration of field instruments and analyzers.
• Control valve selection and troubleshooting.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Instrument sizing and specification.
• Process control and PID tuning.
• FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup support.

Responsibilities

• Review P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets, I/O Lists, Hook-up Drawings, Loop Drawings, Cable Schedules, and Control Philosophy.
• Prepare instrument specifications and technical datasheets.
• Select suitable field instruments based on process conditions.
• Review vendor drawings and approve technical submittals.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable international standards.
• PLC and SCADA system review and commissioning.
• Review PLC logic, HMI graphics, alarm philosophy, and interlocks.
• Configure communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and HART.
• Coordinate with PLC programmers and system integrators.
• Supervise installation of field instruments.
• Conduct instrument calibration and loop checking.
• Verify I/O signals between field devices and PLC.
• Commission field instruments, analyzers, valves, and automation systems.
• Perform SAT (Site Acceptance Test) and support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and automation issues.
• Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain calibration records and documentation.
• Optimize process control for energy efficiency and operational reliability.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Commissioning teams.
• Attend client meetings and technical discussions.
• Review vendor offers and provide technical evaluations.
• Support procurement by preparing technical bid evaluations.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

• Review P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets, I/O Lists, Hook-up Drawings, Loop Drawings, Cable Schedules, and Control Philosophy.

• Selection and specification of:
• Flow Meters (Magnetic, Ultrasonic, Vortex)

• Temperature Instruments
• Control Valves and On-Off Valves
• pH, ORP, DO, Conductivity, Turbidity, TSS, COD, NH Analyzers
• Gas Detectors (CH, HS, O)
• Biogas Flow Measurement Systems

Automation

• PLC and SCADA system review and commissioning.
