Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer for Delhi. The role involves field instrumentation installation, calibration, and maintenance along with DCS/PLC/SCADA operations.

You will work on PID tuning, network configuration, control valves and drives, plus reading P&ID and schematics to ensure safe, efficient plant operation. The position entails hands-on field work, compliance with safety standards, and coordination with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and optimize

Responsibilities

• Follow plant safety standards (PTW, LOTO, confined space, hot work).
• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters and analyzers.
• Calibrate and maintain switches, sensors, gas detectors, weighing and drum filling systems.
• Work with DCS/PLC/SCADA: hands-on with Allen Bradley, Siemens, PLC interlocks and commissioning.
• Tune PID and cascade control; develop basic automation logic.
• Configure instrumentation networks (Profibus PA/DP); set Node IDs, tags and ranges.
• Maintain pneumatic/electric control valves and actuators; calibrate, tune and troubleshoot.
• Handle drives and automation hardware (VFDs, servo drives) and field wiring/panel work.
• Read P&ID, loop diagrams and control schematics; ensure proper cable laying and termination.
• Oversee utilities: HMIs for compressors, chillers, pumps, alarms and environmental monitoring.

Job description

Role & responsibilities1. Safety & Compliance

• Follow plant safety standards (PTW, LOTO, confined space, hot work).
• Ensure safe handling of instruments and hazardous area equipment.
• Comply with SOPs and statutory safety regulations.

2. Field Instrumentation

• Installation, calibration, troubleshooting & maintenance of pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters and analyzers.
• Maintenance of switches, sensors, gas detectors, weighing and drum filling systems.
• Preventive, predictive & breakdown maintenance.
• Calibration documentation and root cause analysis.

3. DCS / PLC / Scada

• Hands-on experience in DCS, PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and SCADA.
• PLC troubleshooting, interlocks, loop checking and commissioning.
• PID, cascade and closed-loop control tuning.
• Basic automation logic development/modification.

4. Industrial Communication

• Knowledge of Profibus PA/DP networks.
• Instrument configuration (Node ID, tag, range, communication setup).
• Network diagnostics and troubleshooting.

5. Control Valves & Actuators

• Maintenance and calibration of pneumatic/electric control valves and actuators.
• Valve tuning, stroking and positioner configuration (Siemens SIPART).
• Pneumatic tubing installation and troubleshooting.

6. Drives & Automation Hardware

• Experience in AC Drives (VFD), Servo Drives and protection relays.

7. Field Wiring & Panel Work

• Field wiring, cable laying, termination and panel wiring.
• Reading P&ID, loop diagrams and control schematics.

8. Utilities & Auxiliary Systems

• Working knowledge of HMI/control systems for compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pump panels, fire alarm and environmental monitoring systems.
