Job summary

Veolia is seeking a senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead engineering packages for I&C systems across water, power and oil & gas projects. The role involves preparing instrument lists, datasheets, loop diagrams, and control system architecture for PLC/DCS environments.

Ideal candidates have 8–14 years of relevant experience, with hands-on knowledge of instrument sizing, valve sizing, and process analyzers, and familiarity with IEC/ISA/API standards.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in electronics/instrumentation and control engineering.
  • 8–14 years of experience in water, power, oil & gas or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience in instrument sizing, valve sizing, and analyzers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute instrumentation and control engineering packages.
  • Prepare and review instrument lists, datasheets, IO lists, and loop diagrams.
  • Develop PLC/DCS system specifications and control architectures.
  • Review tender specs and prepare deviations and post-order vendor docs.
  • Guide 3D modelers on instrument installation in 3D models.

Job description

Individuals in this role should be able to lead and execute engineering packages/projects on Instrumentation and Controls.

Role & responsibilities:
  • 1.In depth knowledge in Instrumentation & Control System Engineering fundamentals.
  • 2. Preparing and reviewing of Instrument List/Index, Instrument Datasheets, IO list, Hook-up, Inst/control Cable Schedule, Loop Diagram etc.
  • 3. Preparing and reviewing of Automated Valve List, Automated Valve Datasheets, Solenoid Valves datasheets, Pressure Regulating Valve Datasheet and Pressure Safety Valve etc.
  • 4. Preparation of PLC/DCS system specification, control system Architecture etc.
  • 5. Ability to read and prepare a deviation list for Tender/ Client specifications
  • 6. Knowledge in International standards (IEC 60079, ISA 5.1, API 551, ATEX, ASME , IEC 61508/61511 etc.).
  • 7 Abilit t d d d t dP d t lik P&IDPFDM B l P7. Ability to read and understand Process documents like P&ID, PFD, Mass Balance, Process Description etc.
  • 8.Ability to read and understand Piping documents like PMS, Line List, Valve List, Nozzle Schedule etc.
  • 9. Guide 3D Modellers on instrument installation on 3D model development
  • 10. Prepare RFQ/MR for Instruments/Analyzers/PLCs/On-Off Valves and Control Valves
  • 11. Review technical offers and preparation of TBE for Instrumentation and Control system (PLC/ DCS, RIO, Field Instruments, Automated Valves (ON-OFF Valves, Control Valves, SOV, PRV etc.) in line with codes & client specifications.
  • 12. Review and Approval of Post order vendor documentation for Instrumentation and Control System (PLC/ DCS, RIO, Field Instruments, Automated Valves (ON-OFF Valves, Control Valves, SOV, PRV etc.)
  • 13. Review Instrument location Layouts on 2D/3D 1
  • 4. Knowledge and exposure on sizing/selection of Instruments and valves for a Zone 1 or 2 classified area
  • 15. Knowledge on Flow meter sizing, Orifice sizing, control valve sizing
  • 16. Exposure to conducting inspection and report for PLC/DCS Panels.
  • 17. Budgeting hours and controlling on time and high-quality submission of Instrumentation and Control scope of work
  • 18. Handled complex projects with complete basic and detail engineering of Instrumentation and Control System scope
  • 19. Ability to converse with inter discipline team members, external stakeholders like customers and vendors
  • 20. Prepare and review control narrative, alarm/trip list, functional block diagrams and cause & effect diagrams
  • 21. Ability to navigate Navis works and reviews 3D drawings
Educational Qualification:

Engineering Degree Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering.

Experience Required (Min Max year):

Minimum 8 to 14 years Experience in Water, Power, Oil & Gas or related Industry
