Job description

As our Senior Instructional Designer, you own the pedagogical spine of the product. You will architect the curriculum and prerequisite (concept) structure for each skill domain, build the library of reusable pedagogical templates the generation pipeline uses to produce learning assets, design the assessment model that connects video learning to simulation checkpoints to verifiable Skill Evidence Packs, and run the learner research and learning evaluations that prove the content moves learners from not-knowing to knowing. You will combine rigorous, evidence-based instructional design with modern learner-experience thinking, writing structured specifications that an automated system executes against rather than producing one-off courses, and handing the Creative Technologist clear visual‑pattern requirements per teaching pattern (you specify the pedagogy; they implement the visual).

  • Architect the curriculum and prerequisite (concept) graph for each skill domain: deep, well‑sequenced structures grounded in how the subject is actually learned
  • Build and maintain the library of reusable pedagogical templates that map content type to teaching pattern to asset type, authored once and reused across many concepts and verticals
  • Own the pedagogical asset‑creation rubric: validate it, evidence it, and take it from draft to a frozen, production‑ready decision standard the generation pipeline runs against
  • Design the assessment model linking video learning, simulation checkpoints, and rubric‑scored Skill Evidence Packs: the verifiable proof of capability delivered to corporate buyers
  • Design prior‑knowledge diagnostics that establish each learner’s starting point and drive adaptive sequencing (our adaptation is grounded in prior knowledge, an evidence‑based approach, not learning styles)
  • Define and run learning evaluations (pre/post measurement of real learning gain) and learner research with pilot cohorts
  • Encode multimedia and cognitive‑load principles as enforceable design checks, so pedagogical quality is structural rather than subjective
  • Partner closely with engineering and ML so your specifications are executable by the generation pipeline and the adaptive delivery system
Requirements
  • 9+ years in corporate L&D or instructional design, with at least one corporate training program designed and shipped end to end
  • Demonstrable learning‑experience‑design (LXD) experience: learner‑centered, experience‑driven, ideally digital or adaptive learning, not only traditional course authoring or slide‑and‑quiz content
  • Strong command of evidence‑based instructional design: Bloom’s taxonomy, ADDIE or SAM, Kirkpatrick evaluation, and the multimedia‑learning and cognitive‑load research base (e.g., Mayer, Clark)
  • Proven ability to design assessments that measure real capability, and to run pre/post learning evaluation
  • Ability to author clear, structured specifications (not just creative briefs) that other people or automated systems can execute against
  • Comfort grounding pedagogical decisions in research and articulating the evidence behind them
Good to Have
  • Scenario‑based or simulation‑based learning design, beyond slides‑and‑quizzes
  • Familiarity with adaptive learning, knowledge tracing, or personalization engines: you will partner with ML on the learner‑state model
  • Experience building reusable template or content systems at scale
  • Experience designing learning for an AI‑assisted or high‑throughput content production pipeline
  • Exposure to prior‑knowledge or diagnostic assessment design
Why Join Us?
  • Own the pedagogical core of a product trying to make hyper‑personalized corporate learning economically viable for the first time
  • Shape the foundational IP (the curriculum graphs and teaching templates) the entire system is built on
  • Work somewhere instructional design is taken seriously and grounded in evidence, not fashion
  • Build something measurable: your success is defined by demonstrated learning gain, not hours of content shipped
