Job summary

ZF India is seeking an Installation and Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) to lead on-site installation, alignment and commissioning of test systems. You will interpret mechanical drawings, perform calibrations and run initial tests, while ensuring safety and quality on client sites.

The role requires a BE/ITI in Mechanical Engineering and 3–8 years of site execution experience, with proficiency in English and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• BE/ITI diploma in Mechanical Engineering mandatory
• 3-8 years of site execution experience
• Basics in mechanics, machine elements and production engineering
• Basic knowledge of drive train technology and machine dynamics
• Computer skills mandatory
• Good understanding of mechanical drawings for site execution
• English communication proficiency
• Experience in testing industry or battery testing facilities is a plus

Responsibilities

• Install and commission machinery at client sites including unpacking, positioning and assembly
• Align shafts, gears and components using laser levels, micrometers, wrenches and calipers
• Calibrate mechanical systems and run initial test cycles to check leaks, vibrations and tightness
• Prepare SOPs for mechanical items and perform root cause analysis for failures
• Collaborate with team members during installation and support commissioning
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols during on-site activities

What you can look forward to as Installation and Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) -Test Systems

• Installation: Unpack, position, and assemble new machinery according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Person should have capabilities for the basic arrangements and basic improvements in the mechanical fixtures at site.
• Skills for understanding the mechanical drawings is mandatory.
• Good communication skills to handle the customers at site, person should be capable to technically understand the machinery and can technically discuss with the customers.
• Alignment: Use tools like laser levels and micrometers to perfectly balance and align machine shafts and gears. Experience using wrenches, calipers, grinders, and heavy lifting equipment.
• Strong understanding of how gears, motors, and hydraulic systems work.
• Calibration: Adjust mechanical components to ensure the machine runs smoothly and safely.
• Run initial test cycles to check for leaks, vibrations, tightness etc.
• Capable to prepare the SOP for mechanical items and capable for doing the root cause analysis for the failures.
• Collaborate with other team members during the installation activities and can support during the commissioning to the engineers
• Deep knowledge of workplace safety protocols (e.g., using proper safety gear and securing heavy loads)

• Technical degree like BE/ITI diploma in Mechanical Engineering would be Mandatory
• 3-8 Years Work experience in Site execution.
• Basics in mechanics, machine elements and production engineering as well as basic knowledge of drive train technology and machine dynamics
• Computer skills are mandatory.
• Good understanding of Mechanical drawings for site execution.
• Can understand and communicate in English.
• Having experience in Testing Industry, Battery testing Facility experience is an added advantage.
