Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in India seeks a Business Analyst to bridge business needs with IS, translating requirements into detailed tech-enabled use cases. You will understand opportunities, risks, and issues, guiding solutions to resolve them.

You will support product ownership, document processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure high-quality system designs and successful adoption within a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in eliciting and managing detailed business requirements.
• Experience in analysing business challenges using structured frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for technology-enabled use cases.
• Experience in modelling system processes and data, and wireframe creation.
• Knowledge of BPMN and notational standards is beneficial.
• Experience in data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
• Able to design and execute functional tests and manage defects.
• Basic knowledge of software engineering, information risk and security standards.
• Hands-on experience in Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
• Good communication and ability to work with cross-functional IS teams.

• Documents as-is and to-be processes, identifying areas for system improvement.
• Collaborates with Product Owner, Solution Architect and stakeholders to capture high-level flows and solutions.
• Advises on expected system behavior to developers and functional consultants.
• Performs functional testing to ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Develops user guides and training materials for product adoption.
• Identifies security and compliance considerations with the Product team.

Your Role

The Business Analyst acts as a key bridge between the Business and IS by translating Business needs into detailed requirements and technology-enabled use cases. They develop a deep understanding of the opportunities, risks, and issues facing the Business, and advise on how technology solutions can be used to achieve / resolve them.

Your Role

The Business Analyst acts as a key bridge between the Business and IS by translating Business needs into detailed requirements and technology-enabled use cases. They develop a deep understanding of the opportunities, risks, and issues facing the Business, and advise on how technology solutions can be used to achieve / resolve them.

Main Responsibilities

• Supports the Product Owner to realize the Product strategy by eliciting and managing detailed Business requirements (e.g., features, user stories) and designing technology-enabled Business use cases.
• Documents as-is and to-be system processes, identifying areas for overall system process improvement.
• Collaborates with Product Owner, Solution Architect, and Business stakeholders to conduct paper-based design activities, capturing high-level system flows and possible technology solutions.
• Supports technical delivery activities by advising Functional Consultants, Developers, etc. on expected system behaviour, informed by clear Business requirements.
• Performs functional testing on delivered solutions, ensuring it fulfils detailed business requirements.
• Develops Product user guides and training materials, delivering training to end users / support teams to enable Product adoption and maintenance.
• Supports the Product Owner to identify areas where additional security and compliance considerations should be factored in (e.g., sensitive data handling). Works with internal SMAs and Product team to ensure these considerations have been addressed correctly.

To Succeed, You Will Need

• Proven experience in eliciting and managing detailed business requirements.
• Good business knowledge in a relevant functional domain (e.g., Marketing and Sales, Logistics), and how the opportunities, risks, and issues in these domains can be addressed by technology.
• Experience in analysing business challenges using structured frameworks and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for developing technology-enabled use cases and analysing Business needs.
• Experience in modelling system processes and data, wireframe creation and knowledge of common notational standards is beneficial (e.g., BPMN).
• Experience in data analysis using the Microsoft application suite – especially Excel
• Able to design and execute functional tests, with experience managing bugs / defects through to remediation.
• Basic knowledge of software engineering, information risk, security standards, and technology solutioning is beneficial.
• Hands-on experience in Agile methodologies and practices (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) is beneficial.
• Good communication skills with an ability to build rapport with a wide range of different Business and IS stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional IS team.
