Atlas Copco Group in India seeks a Functional Consultant to translate business needs into ERP solutions and detailed use cases. You will work with product owners and stakeholders to design and test technology-enabled business processes within SAP SD and related modules.

Responsibilities include eliciting requirements, documenting current and target processes, and guiding technical delivery. Collaborative, agile mindset and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience eliciting and managing detailed business requirements.
• Strong knowledge of business domains (Marketing, Sales, Logistics) for ERP solutions.
• Hands-on SAP SD configuration including Master Data, Order Management, Pricing, Billing.
• Familiarity with integration with MM and FI modules.

• Identify security and compliance considerations with product teams.
• Manage changes and emergency transports for production issues.
• Provide escalation support for ERP configuration incidents.
• Provide functional guidance on ERP specialisms to inform architecture.

Your Role

The Functional Consultant acts as a key advisor to the Business on ERP system processes and solutions. They translate Business needs into detailed requirements and technology-enabled use cases. They develop a deep understanding of the opportunities, risks, and issues facing the Business, and advise on how technology solutions can be used to achieve / resolve them.

Main Responsibilities

• Supports the Product Owner to realise the Product strategy by eliciting and managing detailed Business requirements (e.g., features, user stories) and designing technology-enabled Business use cases.
• Documents as‑is and to‑be system processes, identifying areas for overall system process improvement.
• Collaborates with Product Owner, Solution Architect, and Business stakeholders to conduct paper‑based design activities, capturing high‑level system flows and possible technology solutions.
• Supports technical delivery activities by advising Developers, etc. on expected system behaviour, informed by clear Business requirements.
• Configures ERP components and modules to realise detailed functional requirements.
• Performs functional testing on delivered solutions, ensuring it fulfils detailed business requirements.
• Develops Product user guides and training materials, delivering training to end users / support teams to enable Product adoption and maintenance.
• Supports the Product Owner to identify areas where additional security and compliance considerations should be factored in (e.g., sensitive data handling). Works with internal SMAs and Product team to ensure these considerations have been addressed correctly.
• Handles configuration changes and emergency transport for high priority production issues (as needed).
• Provides escalated support for incident resolution related to ERP configuration.
• Provides Business and IS with key functional guidance on relevant ERP specialisms to inform the approach to realising Business needs and architectural evolution.

To Succeed You Will Need

• Proven track record in eliciting and managing detailed business requirements.
• Strong business knowledge in a relevant functional domain (i.e. Marketing and Sales, Logistics), and how the opportunities, risks, and issues in these domains can be addressed by technology.
• Strong understanding of ERP technologies, with deep hands‑on configuration experience in SD ERP module.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for developing technology‑enabled use cases and analysing Business needs.
• Experience in modelling system processes; knowledge of common notational standards is beneficial (e.g., BPMN).
• Able to design and execute functional tests, with experience managing bugs / defects through to remediation.
• Good working knowledge of software engineering, information risk, security standards, and technology solutioning is beneficial.
• Hands‑on experience in Agile methodologies and practices (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) is beneficial.
• Good communication skills with an ability to build rapport with a wide range of different Business and IS stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a cross‑functional IS team.
