Hiring: Infrastructure Lead / Infrastructure Engineering Manager

Location: Baner, Pune
Experience: 12+ Years | 4+ Years in Management
Work Mode: On-site | No Remote Option
International Travel: 3 Months in Morocco for Product Training

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Lead / Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead and build a high-performing infrastructure organization supporting critical payments/banking technology platforms.

This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can combine technical infrastructure oversight, people leadership, service delivery, compliance, transition management and global stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the India infrastructure organization across multiple disciplines, including:
• Network & Security
• Database Administration
• Middleware & DevOps
• Cloud Engineering
• Key Management
• Security Operations (SecOps)
• Build, hire, mentor and develop infrastructure teams and establish strong technical capabilities.
• Drive GCC hiring and capability development, including team structure, succession planning and career development.
• Own infrastructure service delivery, availability, incident management, performance and operational KPIs.
• Lead transition of infrastructure functions from the global/offshore organization into the India GCC, including Knowledge Transfer (KT), Shadow, Reverse Shadow, Reverse KT and sign-off activities.
• Establish effective support models, shift structures, escalation mechanisms, monitoring and on-call processes.
• Provide oversight of AWS cloud platforms and Kubernetes/container environments.
• Ensure infrastructure operations meet PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and other applicable compliance requirements.
• Drive infrastructure automation, operational efficiency and reduction of manual effort.
• Manage infrastructure risks, vulnerabilities, patch compliance and security-related initiatives.
• Partner closely with global HQ and senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, performance, budgets and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to infrastructure architecture standards, technology roadmap and cost management.

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

• 12+ years of overall IT/infrastructure experience, including 4+ years in a management/leadership role.
• Strong experience leading multi-disciplinary infrastructure teams within payments, banking or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience across infrastructure functions such as network, security, databases, middleware, cloud and DevOps.
• Strong oversight-level understanding of AWS and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with PCI DSS and ISO 27001 audits/compliance.
• Proven experience in hiring, building and developing engineering/infrastructure teams, preferably within a GCC environment.
• Experience managing transition, knowledge transfer and capability-building initiatives.
• Strong global stakeholder and senior leadership management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with global HQ and distributed teams.
• Ability to manage critical incidents and make decisions under pressure.

Good to Have

• Experience working with a payments platform, such as PowerCARD or a comparable payment processing platform.
• Previous experience transitioning infrastructure capabilities from an offshore/global parent organization into a Global Capability Centre (GCC).
• Experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL, Linux/Unix, cloud architecture and infrastructure security.
• Experience in infrastructure budget and vendor management.
• Experience establishing and scaling infrastructure operations in a new location.

This international assignment is an important part of the role and will involve working closely with the global team to gain comprehensive product and operational knowledge.

Success in This Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a robust India infrastructure capability, ensuring independent ownership across infrastructure functions, maintaining high availability and operational standards, developing the team, and establishing effective collaboration with global stakeholders.
