Job summary

DigitalTolk is seeking an experienced Linux engineer to own and run our infrastructure remotely. You will be the go-to expert for Linux, Proxmox and core network services, with a strong focus on automation, consistency and reliability.

The role requires 10+ years in Linux systems engineering, deep hands-on experience with Proxmox, Postfix, WireGuard, and Unbound, plus HA design using CARP. Strong Ansible skills and proactive incident handling are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Linux systems engineering experience.
• Hands-on production experience with Proxmox.

• Experience building high-availability setups with CARP.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana or Prometheus.

Responsibilities

• Own Proxmox environments end to end, including cluster builds and VM management with Ansible automation.
• Run and maintain Postfix mail servers.
• Build and maintain WireGuard VPNs across offices and environments.
• Operate and maintain Unbound for DNS resolution.
• Design and maintain high-availability setups using CARP.
• Use Ansible as the standard for provisioning and maintenance.
• Monitor and tune Linux systems and automate recurring fixes.
• Take end-to-end ownership from design to production support.
• Respond to incidents and drive problems to resolution.
• Proactively flag risks and technical debt before incidents occur.

We're looking for an experienced Linux engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience to own and run infrastructure. You'll be the go-to expert for Linux, Proxmox and core network services, with a strong focus on automation, consistency and reliability.

What You'll Do

• Own Proxmox environments end to end, from building and running clusters to managing VMs, with changes automated through Ansible.
• Run and maintain Postfix mail servers.
• Build and maintain WireGuard VPNs across offices, servers and environments.
• Operate and maintain Unbound for DNS resolution.
• Design and maintain high-availability setups using CARP.
• Use Ansible as the standard way to provision, configure and maintain servers.
• Monitor, tune and troubleshoot Linux systems, and turn recurring fixes into automation.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the services you run, from design through to production support.
• Participate in and respond to production incidents and drive them to resolution.
• Proactively flag risks, misconfigurations or technical debt before they become incidents.

• Expert-level Linux administration.
