Job summary

MeridianSquare in Goa, India, is seeking a Systems Engineer with strong DevOps and SysOps experience to manage, automate, secure, and support our application and infrastructure environments across Linux and cloud platforms.

You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, provision resources on AWS/Azure/GCP, tune servers, secure configurations, manage databases, and collaborate with developers, QA, security, and support teams to improve reliability and delivery speed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux system administration (RHEL, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, CentOS).
• Experience on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Apache and Nginx.
• Working knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL administration.
• Experience supporting PHP, Python, Node.js, and React application environments.
• Experience with Git and GitLab, including CI/CD pipelines and source-control workflows.
• Automation scripting with Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, TLS/SSL, firewalls, load balancing, and reverse proxies.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, backups, and disaster-recovery practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems, primarily RHEL and compatible distributions.
• Manage application hosting environments for PHP, Python, React, and Node.js applications.
• Configure, secure, tune, and support Apache HTTP Server and Nginx.
• Administer MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL environments, including user access, backups, recovery, performance monitoring, and routine maintenance.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using GitLab.
• Provision, configure, and operate infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Automate routine operational tasks, deployments, configuration changes, and monitoring using shell scripting, Python, or similar tools.
• Monitor system health, capacity, availability, logs, and application performance; investigate and resolve incidents.
• Implement and maintain security controls, patching processes, access management, secrets handling, and backup policies.
• Support release activities, including application deployments, database migrations, rollback planning, and post-release validation.
• Maintain clear infrastructure documentation, system inventories, operational runbooks, and disaster-recovery procedures.
• Partner with developers, QA, security, and support teams to improve reliability, scalability, and delivery speed.

Required Skills

• Experience operating workloads on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting Apache and Nginx.
• Working knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL administration.
• Experience supporting PHP, Python, Node.js, and React application environments.
• Experience with Git and GitLab, including CI/CD pipelines and source-control workflows.
• Ability to write automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.

• Knowledge of security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and secrets management.
• Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
