Bharathcloud is seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to support and maintain our Linux-based infrastructure in Hyderabad. You will manage installation, patching, backups, and security, while integrating IaC and CI/CD practices with DevOps teams.

The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and scalable systems, with collaboration across operations and support teams to ensure high availability.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of Linux server administration in production.
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals, ext4/XFS, and memory management.
• Experience with scripting in Bash, Perl, or Python.
• Experience with monitoring and logging stacks (Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, ELK).
• Familiarity with virtualization/containerization (KVM/VMware, Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and services.
• Patch, upgrade, backup, and plan for n+1 redundancy.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and respond to alerts.
• Ensure security through access control, hardening, and firewall rules.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux System Administrator to support and maintain our infrastructure, ensuring system availability, performance, and security across our Linux-based environments. You will work closely with operations, DevOps, and support teams to deliver stable and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and associated services (e.g., networking, storage, monitoring).
• Perform routine system tasks: patching, upgrades, backups, and n + 1 redundancy planning.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, respond to alerts and incidents.
• Ensure system security: user access, hardening, intrusion detection, firewall/routing configuration.
• Maintain documentation of configuration, process flows, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with DevOps/automation teams to implement IaC, scripting, and CI/CD deployment of infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical system coverage and recovery events.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience administering Linux servers in production environments.
• Strong command of Linux OS internals, file systems (ext4, XFS), process scheduling, memory/cache behaviour.
• Proficiency with shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python) and automation frameworks.
• Experience with system monitoring tools (Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana) and logging stacks (ELK, Fluentd).
• Knowledge of virtualization/containerization (KVM, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud environments.
• Experience with network services: DNS, DHCP, NFS, Samba, mail, HTTP proxies.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, LFCS or equivalent.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures.
• Hands-on with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
• Familiarity with database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or middleware in a Linux stack.
