Vensure Employer Solutions in India (Kerala) is seeking a senior IT Operations/Platform Engineer to support engineering teams, diagnose full-stack issues, and manage servers and networks. Role requires 7–15 years of experience and a strong background in Linux, Windows, and automation.

The position is full-time, on-site with US shift timing (6 PM – 3 AM IST) and five-day work week. Familiarity with cloud infra, virtualization, and DR planning is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux Servers, Windows Servers, Databases and Networking.
• Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible.
• Experience with Docker CE and Docker DC infrastructure.
• Design-level expertise for SaaS operating platforms.
• Knowledge of VMware virtualization and cloud infrastructure in managed services.
• Strong scripting knowledge.
• Willingness for alternate work schedules as needed.
• Industry certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA are desirable.
• SOC2 or equivalent compliance experience is desirable.
• Project management experience in hands-on roles.

Responsabilités

• Provide support to engineering teams to facilitate development and testing activities.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve full-stack problems including network, SSL, and auth issues.
• Perform standard system administration tasks: installs, patching, log analysis, and account setup.
• Create and maintain documentation on server and network topology and configuration.
• Advance use of automation and configuration management.
• Contribute to Disaster Recovery plan testing and execution.
• Collaborate with hosting services and MSPs to deliver solutions.
• Assist in capacity planning and procure new servers & networking gear.
• Participate in after-hours upgrades and on-call support.
• Lead projects to keep deliverables on track and mentor juniors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support to the Engineering Teams to facilitate development and testing activities
• Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve full application stack problems, end-to-end, including network connectivity, traffic utilization, authentication, ssl, and application debugging.
• Standard system administration duties including server install, system/application install, patch management, log analysis, and customer account setup.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment, and configuration(s)
• Continue to evolve the use of automation and configuration management
• Participate in the creation, maintenance, testing, and execution of the Disaster Recovery plan
• Work with hosting services, managed service providers, and contracted support to deliver innovative solutions for a wide range of product and service offerings.
• Assist in capacity planning activities, to include creating and presenting technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment
• Participate in after-hours upgrades, maintenance troubleshooting, and on-call availability as needed.
• Function as a project lead to ensure major projects are kept on track and key deliverables met
• Function as a team lead and be able to mentor and train junior personnel

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering, plus 7+ years of relevant experience
• High level of knowledge with Linux Servers, Windows Servers, Databases, and Networking
• Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
• Experience with Docker CE as well as Docker Data Center infrastructure or equivalent
• Design level expertise for SaaS operating platforms
• Knowledge of VMware virtual systems and cloud infrastructure, in a managed service environment
• Strong scripting knowledge
• Excellent problem solving and effective research skills
• Dedication and willingness to work some alternative schedules as necessary
• Industry certifications are strongly desired: Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE), Windows (MCSA / MCSE), and/or Network (CCNA, CCNA Security)
• SOC2 or equivalent compliance experience strongly desired
• Project management experience in a hands-on role
