Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking an Infra / Platform OpCenter Admin for its Pune operations. You will lead Siemens Opcenter Discrete MES platform installation, configuration, deployment, administration, upgrades, and production support across Dev/Test/UAT/Prod environments.

The role requires strong Windows/Linux server experience, SQL Server connectivity, IIS, and enterprise integration skills, plus DR and RCA responsibilities. On-site Pune-based position with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years experience as Siemens Opcenter Discrete MES Platform Engineer.
• Strong hands-on in installation, configuration, deployment, administration, upgrade, and production support.
• Solid understanding of MES architecture, Windows/Linux servers, databases, security, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Siemens Opcenter MES environments.
• Support MES deployment architecture across Development, Test, UAT, Production.
• Perform installation, patching, upgrades, and migrations of Opcenter components.
• Manage Windows/Linux servers supporting MES applications and IIS.
• Support SQL Server connectivity, performance, backup, and restore coordination.
• Coordinate integrations between Opcenter MES and ERP/PLM and other apps.
• Configure security, service accounts, certificates, and access controls.
• Handle deployment, releases, and environment refresh activities.
• Provide L2/L3 production support and root-cause analysis for incidents.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks; coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Educational Background – Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities –We are looking for 7–10+ years experienced Siemens Opcenter Discrete MES Platform Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in installation, configuration, deployment, administration, upgrade, and production support of Opcenter MES environments. The candidate should have a solid understanding of MES application architecture and the underlying Windows Server, database, application services, security, integration, and infrastructure components.
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Siemens Opcenter MES environments.
• Understand and support MES application and deployment architecture across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migration of Opcenter components.
• Manage and troubleshoot Windows Server / Linux environments supporting MES applications.
• Configure and support IIS and application services, where applicable to the deployed Opcenter product/version.
• Support SQL Server/database connectivity, configuration, performance troubleshooting, backup, and restore coordination.
• Support integrations between Opcenter MES and ERP, PLM, shop‑floor, equipment, middleware, and other enterprise applications.
• Configure and maintain application‑level security, service accounts, certificates, access controls, and authentication.
• Manage application deployment, configuration changes, releases, and environment refresh activities.
• Perform application and infrastructure health checks, log analysis, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot MES application availability, connectivity, database, interface, and infrastructure issues.
• Support backup, restore, Disaster Recovery (DR), and business continuity activities.
• Participate in DR exercises and validate recovery procedures for the MES platform.
• Provide L2/L3 production support and perform root‑cause analysis for recurring incidents.
• Maintain technical documentation, installation guides, configuration records, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
• Coordinate with MES developers, database administrators, Windows/infrastructure teams, network teams, cybersecurity teams, and manufacturing stakeholders.
