Birlasoft (BSL) is seeking a Senior MES Functional Consultant with Siemens Opcenter Discrete expertise to drive MES rollouts across multiple production lines. You will translate shop-floor requirements into functional designs, perform fit-gap analyses and support testing, UAT and go-live activities.

The role requires strong domain knowledge, solution-architect experience and excellent client-facing communication to coordinate with stakeholders and Birlasoft teams. Hybrid work model is offered.

Aufgaben

• Gather, analyze and document MES requirements for new production lines.

• Define and support work order execution, production monitoring, downtime management, quality management and traceability.
• Perform fit-gap analysis against Siemens Opcenter Discrete configurations.
• Prepare BRDs, functional requirement specifications and test scenarios.
• Collaborate with development, integration and change management teams.
• Support functional testing, integration testing, UAT, training and go-live.
• Act as the primary functional liaison between client stakeholders and Birlasoft team.

• Ensure alignment with ISA-95 and MES best practices.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior MES Functional Consultant with Siemens Opcenter Discrete expertise to support manufacturing execution system rollouts across multiple production lines.

The candidate will work closely with manufacturing stakeholders to understand shop-floor processes, translate business requirements into functional designs, perform fit-gap analysis, and support testing, user acceptance testing and go-live activities. Prior Solution Architect experience and strong manufacturing domain knowledge are important for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements for MES implementation across new production lines.
• Translate shop-floor manufacturing requirements into functional designs and MES use cases.
• Define and support work order execution, production monitoring, downtime management, quality management and product traceability processes.
• Perform fit-gap analysis against existing Siemens Opcenter Discrete configurations and recommend appropriate functional solutions.
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional requirement specifications, functional design specifications and test scenarios.
• Collaborate with development, integration and change management teams to ensure functional designs are implementable and aligned with business needs.
• Support functional testing, integration testing, UAT, end-user training and go-live activities.
• Act as the primary functional liaison between client manufacturing stakeholders and the Birlasoft technical team.
• Support MES solution architecture, implementation planning and rollout activities across production lines.
• Ensure alignment with manufacturing processes, ISA-95 principles and MES implementation best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in MES/manufacturing IT, with strong functional consulting experience.
• Prior experience in a Solution Architect role or solution design responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter Discrete MES.
• Sound understanding of manufacturing and shop-floor processes, including production execution, quality management, traceability and material/inventory flows.
• Experience gathering business requirements and conducting fit-gap analysis.
• Expertise in preparing BRDs, functional requirements, design specifications and test scenarios.
• Experience supporting functional testing, integration testing, UAT, training and production go-live.
• Knowledge of ISA-95 and manufacturing digitalization best practices.
• Excellent client-facing communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Experience implementing MES solutions across multiple production lines or manufacturing facilities.
• Experience working directly with manufacturing stakeholders in client-facing environments.
• Relevant experience with Siemens Opcenter or comparable MES platforms.
