Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking an OpCenter MES Developer with 7+ years of enterprise/manufacturing software experience, focusing on Siemen’s Opcenter Execution Discrete extensions. Strong C#/.NET, SQL, and web tech skills are essential. International travel to Denmark and plant locations may be required.

The role requires English communication, architecture knowledge, and experience with CI/CD and Azure DevOps for release governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 7+ years in enterprise or manufacturing-software development with Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete implementations or extensions.
• Strong C#/.NET and Visual Studio skills, including OO design, service development, debugging, and production-quality coding.
• Hands-on knowledge of Opcenter architecture, domain modeling, extension mechanisms, transaction behavior, and deployment/configuration management.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server or Oracle, including schema understanding, stored procedures, query optimization, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
• Experience with APIs and integration technologies such as REST/OData, SOAP, JSON, XML, auth/authorization, and message-oriented integration.
• Working experience with modern web technologies—React; HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript; AngularJS advantageous for migration work.
• Practical understanding of discrete-manufacturing execution (work-order lifecycle, routing, WIP, material consumption, traceability, quality, rework, resources, equipment).
• Experience with source control, CI/CD, defect management, code review, and release governance, preferably Azure DevOps.
• Ability to communicate in English with distributed technical teams and customer stakeholders; willingness to travel to Denmark and plant locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Opcenter MES solutions, including customization and extensions for discrete manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with global teams to implement and integrate Opcenter components with enterprise systems.
• Design robust, production-quality software using C#/.NET and modern web tech.
• Ensure proper deployment, configuration management, and release governance across environments.
• Analyze data with SQL, optimize queries, and support data integration tasks.

• Strong C#/.NET and Microsoft Visual Studio skills, including object-oriented design, service development, debugging, and production-quality coding.
• Hands-on knowledge of Opcenter architecture, domain modeling, extension mechanisms, transaction behavior, and deployment/configuration management.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server or Oracle, including schema understanding, stored procedures, query optimization, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
• Experience with APIs and integration technologies such as REST/OData, SOAP, JSON, XML, authentication/authorization, and message-oriented integration.
• Working experience with modern web technologies. React is required for this program; HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and prior AngularJS exposure are advantageous for migration work.
