Role Overview
We are looking for a strong Technology Strategy and Architecture Transformation leader with deep telecommunications expertise across OSS/BSS and Networks transformation, including autonomous networks. The role requires a senior consulting practitioner who can engage confidently with CxO and business leadership; shape strategic narratives; drive enterprise architecture discussions; and translate business ambition into executable transformation roadmaps.
This role operates at the intersection of strategy, enterprise architecture, and transformation execution, ensuring alignment between business priorities, technology investments, and realized outcomes. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate executive presence, consultative skill, and independent leadership in high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy and Architecture
- Leverage experience across technology strategy and enterprise architecture areas such as Digital & Technology Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, AI/Agentic Architecture, Value case/business case formulation, Application Portfolio Optimization, Technical Debt, AI and Cloud Transformation
- Advise clients on platform strategy, architecture options, and build-versus-buy decisions across package solutions, ecosystem components, and cloud-native architectures
- Design future-state business capability models and target architecture for telecom transformation initiatives across key domains
- Have strong knowledge of technology trends and how they can be applied to solve real-world problems and opportunities
- Develop technology solutions and value-adding propositions specific to the telecom industry, and take these to market
- Establish architecture governance, principles, standards, and minimal viable guardrails
- Create expert content and use advanced presentation, public speaking, content creation and communication skills for C-Level discussions
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the telecom industry, client or technology, and act as an expert to advise senior leadership
- Identify high-value AI, GenAI and agentic use cases across network operations, care, fulfillment, assurance, commercial operations and enterprise functions
- Advise clients on key business and technology trends in telecom including AI-led operations, agentic architecture, autonomous networks, digital channels, monetization platforms, ecosystem partnerships and cloud-native modernization
Transformation and Execution Guidance
- Translate target architecture into multi-year, phased transformation roadmap
- Lead complex modernization programs spanning legacy transformation, network modernization, platform simplification, API enablement, cloud migration, process redesign, and operating model evolution
- Support programs across OSS/BSS transformation, networks transformation, autonomous network enablement, platform simplification, and operating model redesign
- Identify quick wins, foundational enablers, and long-term modernization initiatives
- Maintain architectural coherence across programs, workstreams, products, and implementation partners
- Work with delivery, engineering, security, operations and business teams to connect strategy with implementation realities
- Partner with CIO/CTO leadership to evolve technology operating models
Executive Advisory and Value Realization
- Lead CxO-level conversations on IT and network strategy, transformation priorities, sourcing choices, platform modernization, and enterprise architecture direction
- Establish transformation governance and value realization frameworks
- Connect architecture and transformation decisions to business outcomes such as improved customer experience, faster product launch, lower cost-to-serve, reduced order fallout, improved assurance, and simplified IT landscapes
- Provide executive-level visibility into strategic alignment, risks, value delivery, and transformation progress
- Support strategic pursuits, client account development, and growth initiatives through differentiated advisory propositions and executive-level solution narratives
Qualifications
Core Skillsets & Tools
Telecom Strategy and Domain Expertise
- Strong understanding of telecom business models, customer and network value chains, and business processes across lead-to-order, order-to-activate, trouble-to-resolve, and usage-to-cash
- Deep subject matter expertise of OSS/BSS domains including CRM, CPQ, product catalog, order management, billing, charging, mediation, fulfillment, assurance, inventory, provisioning and field service integration
- Strong understanding of network transformation, network operations, service orchestration, zero-touch operations and autonomous networks concepts
- Ability to connect market and business trends with technology transformation priorities, operating model implications and value realization
Architecture, Platform and Technology Depth
- Strong experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture, platform architecture and transition architecture across telecom environments
- Knowledge of key telecom platforms and vendors such as Amdocs, Netcracker, Salesforce Industries, Oracle, Ericsson, Nokia, ServiceNow and adjacent digital, integration and data platforms
- Good understanding of telecom frameworks and standards such as TM Forum eTOM, SID, Open APIs and ODA; preference for enterprise architecture practices such as TOGAF
- Strong understanding of API-led integration, microservices, cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, event-driven design, data platforms, observability and automation tooling
- Practical understanding of hyperscaler capabilities and partner ecosystems across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
- Practical understanding of AI, GenAI and agentic architecture concepts and their application to telecom business and operations use cases
- Ability to define data, platform and architecture enablers required to scale AI responsibly across the telecom value chain
- Experience identifying use cases and target-state architectures for AI-enabled network operations, care, assurance, knowledge management and enterprise productivity
Consulting and Communication Skills
- Strong consulting toolkit spanning structured problem solving, hypothesis-led analysis, benchmarking, assessment design, facilitation and executive storytelling
- Ability to drive CxO-level conversations with credibility and clarity, influence senior stakeholders and create alignment across business and technology teams
- Ability to independently lead client discussions, develop thought leadership, create compelling transformation narratives and shape opportunities
- Experience leading proposals, strategic pursuits, and senior client relationship development
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus
- Prior experience in consulting, technology, or client-facing roles is a plus
- 9+ years of experience in consulting, technology strategy, enterprise architecture, telecom IT transformation or client-facing advisory roles
- Experience working across telecom transformation initiatives spanning OSS/BSS, networks transformation, cloud, data, AI or platform modernization
- Exposure to fixed, mobile, broadband, enterprise, or converged service provider environments will be advantageous
- Hands-on experience in at least 2 of our offerings: Enterprise Architecture, Technology ROI/Cost Take-out, Application Portfolio Optimization, Modern Architecture, Cloud Transformation, AI-led reinvention
- 4+ years of experience leading or managing large teams effectively including planning/structuring analytical work, facilitating team workshops, and developing technology strategy recommendations
- Understanding and application of leading concepts in Business Architecture, Application Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Security Architecture, Integration Architecture, Microservices architecture and SOA
- Practical use of Enterprise Architecture tools such as LeanIX, Troux, Mega, Alfabet, Archimate, etc.
- Experience in designing technology governance constructs based on established frameworks such as TOGAF and COBIT is preferred
- Strong facilitation capability with experience in workshops, design thinking sessions, leadership discussions and architecture governance forums
