Job summary

Studds Accessories Limited is seeking a design-led specialist focused on sketching, rendering, and 3D surfacing to shape form and aesthetics. Proficiency in Rhino 3D is mandatory; Alias knowledge is a plus.

You will translate user insights into concepts, produce renders, collaborate with engineering for feasible CAD handoffs, build design guidelines, present concepts to leadership, and mentor junior designers while tracking materials and manufacturing trends.

Qualifications

• Strong hand-sketching and ideation skills.
• Proficiency in Rhino 3D is mandatory; working knowledge of Alias preferred.
• Proficiency in rendering tools (KeyShot, V-Ray, or similar).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and ergonomics as they relate to design decisions.
• Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept generation through sketching, mood boards, and design narratives for new products.
• Develop 3D surface/concept models in Rhino 3D and/or Alias to explore form and aesthetics.

• Guide junior designers and review their concept work.
• Stay current with materials, finishes, manufacturing processes, and design trends relevant to the product category.

• Lead concept generation through sketching, mood boards, and design narratives for new products
• Develop 3D surface/concept models in Rhino 3D and/or Autodesk Alias to explore form, proportion, and aesthetics
• Translate user research and market insights into design concepts and product language
• Create renders and visualizations to communicate design intent to stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with engineering/CAD teams to hand off design intent for feasibility and detailed CAD development
• Build and refine design guidelines, mood boards, and trend/competitive analysis
• Present design concepts to leadership, clients, or cross-functional teams
• Guide junior designers and review their concept work
• Stay current with materials, finishes, manufacturing processes, and design trends relevant to the product category
