Selective Global Search is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to own PLCs, controls and digital systems for our machines in Pune. You will design and modify PLC programs, troubleshoot logic, backups, and documentation while leading upgrades and commissioning of new equipment.

Responsibilities include selecting controllers, drives, sensors, HMIs, and ensuring cybersecurity and safe practices on connected equipment, with emphasis on Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, and RS232 networks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming with ladder, STL, SFC, and FBD
• Experience wiring machines and panels, and selecting drives and sensors
• Familiarity with communication protocols Profibus, Ethernet, and RS232
• Exposure to vision systems (Keyence/Cognex/SensoPart) and MES/shop-floor data
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify PLC programs for new and existing machines.
• Troubleshoot PLC logic, drives, sensors, and electrical panels to reduce downtime.
• Maintain PLC backups, program versions, and proper documentation.
• Lead automation upgrades, retrofitting, and new machine commissioning.
• Select right controllers, drives, sensors, HMIs, and electrical components
• Manage industrial networks - Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, RS232.
• Ensure cybersecurity and safe practices for PLCs and connected equipment.
