About the Team

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and deploy high‑quality Java backend applications that process millions of events daily.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless mobile experiences.
• Drive technical discussions, provide recommendations on solution design, and ensure alignment with Walmart’s engineering standards.
• Write clean, modular, and testable code with a strong emphasis on maintainability and performance.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize mobile applications to ensure robust and responsive user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.
• Support integration of mobile solutions with microservices, APIs, and backend systems.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of software development experience.
• 3–6 years of experience with Java (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, EhCache, Micrometer) building multi‑threaded high‑performance scalable applications.
• Good knowledge of the Karate framework, API proxy, and App2App authentication.
• Very strong understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with design and programming across one or more platforms, languages and frameworks (Java/Python, Spring, Microservices), data structure fundamentals and relational/NoSQL databases, cloud computing, Linux system and networks.
• Must have knowledge of big data tools such as GCP BigQuery or Azure Databricks.
• Hands‑on in architecting and developing large‑scale distributed applications that are multi‑tenant and multi‑modal.
• 3 or more years of experience with SQL (MSSQL, GCP MySQL) or NoSQL (Cassandra, Azure Cosmos).
• Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures and data stores.
• Strong experience in distributed tracing tools and logging systems such as Splunk.
• Experience in real‑time applications, transactional systems, and encryption.
• Strong expertise in REST, messaging (Kafka, Azure Event Hub), and stream processing (Spark, Storm).
• Familiar with Agile methodologies; understanding of AI/ML and data pipelines is a plus.
• Experience with GenAI, data interpretation and data visualization is preferred.
