Walmart Global Tech India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Chennai. You will design, build, test, and deploy scalable systems and microservices to support Walmart's developer community. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree, with strong Java and front-end skills.

You will be an integral part of the Global Technology Platforms (GTP) team at IDC, where you will play a key role in building, enhancing, and maintaining platforms that empower Walmart’s developer community. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing new features, ensuring platform reliability, and driving product stability to meet the evolving needs of our engineers. By focusing on scalability, performance, and intuitive user experiences, you will directly contribute to improving developer productivity and efficiency. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver seamless solutions, proactively resolve issues, and continuously optimize workflows. Ultimately, your work will have a direct impact on shaping the productivity tools and developer experience at Walmart, enabling thousands of engineers to innovate faster and deliver high‑quality solutions to millions of customers.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 1 year’s experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
This role is based in our [Bangalore/Chennai] office for daily work, with the flexibility for associates to manage their personal lives.
