What you will do

• Architect and review designs within the team and across teams.
• Conduct code reviews across teams.
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive agendas, set priorities, and deliver outstanding products.
• Drive design, development, implementation and documentation.
• Build, test and deploy cutting‑edge solutions at scale, impacting Walmart associates worldwide.
• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
• Drive the success of implementation by applying technical skills to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives.
• Use your engineering experience and technical skill to develop highly scalable and robust solutions while working with Engineering Leads and architects.
• Work closely with Architects and cross‑functional teams, following established practices for the delivery of solutions that meet QCD (quality, cost, delivery) within the established architectural guidelines.
• Work with senior leadership to chart out the future roadmap of products.
• Participate in hiring and build teams to enable high‑performing agile teams.
• Interact closely on requirements with business owners and technical teams both within India and across the globe.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• Excellent team player with a passion for collaboration and innovation.
• 7+ years of experience in application development using Python‑based REST APIs and Next.js, with containerized deployments on Kubernetes using Docker and microservices architecture, and strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable Python‑based applications and microservices.
• Deep understanding of system design principles and hands‑on experience with CI/CD and testing tools.
• Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Exposure to AI‑assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
• Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud.
• Experience with frontend integration using Next.js, React.js.
• Basic understanding of AIOps, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and agentic AI concepts.
• Experience developing highly scalable and available enterprise‑grade products.
• Hands‑on experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong knowledge of application security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, etc.) and enterprise security best practices.
• Open to learning and adopting new technologies as per project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 1 year’s experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects.
