Job summary

JSW Steel in Vasind, Maharashtra, is seeking a Shift Mechanical Maintenance professional to develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs for mechanical systems, with focus on cost efficiency and process optimization.

You will lead breakdown analysis, execute low-cost automation projects, generate daily/weekly CAPA reports, and ensure safety SOP adherence while driving continuous improvements in plant reliability.

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance: ensure timely execution of breakdown, preventive, predictive, and proactive tasks.
• Breakdown maintenance: conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
• Utilities/Enhancements: lead process improvements and low-cost automation projects.
• Safety Perspective: adhere to SOPs for the mechanical department.
• MIS Reports / Documentation: generate and present Target vs Achieved, Breakdown data, and CAPA analyses.

Purpose - Why does this role exist?

Develop and oversee the implementation of preventative maintenance programs for mechanical systems. Focus on modifications and improvements with an emphasis on cost efficiency and procedure optimization to ensure effective delivery.

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)

Preventive Maintenance

• Ensure timely execution of Breakdown, Preventive, Predictive, and Proactive maintenance tasks.
• Regularly assess the health of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Escalate critical mechanical maintenance issues related to plant, equipment, and accessories.
• Provide recommendations for system and process improvements based on assessments.

Break Down Maintenance

• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring mechanical breakdowns and implement permanent solutions.
• Analyse and address routine problems or frequent breakdown complaints to minimize disruptions.

Utilities/Enhancements

• Lead process enhancements and development projects according to plant requirements.
• Execute in-house low-cost automation projects to meet customer expectations and improve mechanical processes.

Safety Perspective

• Ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures as outlined in SOPs for the mechanical department.

MIS Reports / Documentation

• Generate and provide comparison reports for Target Planned vs. Achieved, Breakdown Occurrence & Analysis, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
