Job summary

PwC is seeking an SAP MDG Techno-Functional Consultant with 5–8 years of hands-on experience to support our SAP MDG missions. The role focuses on MDG-M and MDG-S, with strong ABAP OO, BRFplus, RBW, DRF, and UI expertise in FPM and Web Dynpro ABAP.

You will work with manufacturing data, governance rules, and downstream integration for SAP S/4HANA environments. You will bridge technical execution and governance, collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure robust master data management.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of hands-on techno-functional experience in SAP MDG.
• Strong technical mastery of SAP MDG development tools: ABAP OO and MDG API development.
• Floorplan Manager (FPM) and Web Dynpro ABAP experience required.
• BRFplus configuration for complex validation/derivation.
• Rule-Based Workflows (RBW) and data replication with DRF.
• Deep understanding of MDG-M and MDG-S concepts and data models.
• Hands-on experience with DRF using IDocs/ALE/WEB SERVICES.
• Excellent ability to translate business requirements into technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, configuration, and end-to-end implementation of SAP MDG Central Governance, focusing on MDG-M and MDG-S.
• Configure dynamic approval workflows using RBW with complex user agent rules.
• Develop and customize UI using FPM and Web Dynpro ABAP, integrating custom fields into MDG UIs.
• Configure DRF to replicate master data to downstream SAP and external systems via SOA, IDocs, and RFCs.
• Develop solutions using ABAP OO, MDG APIs, and enhancement frameworks.
• Collaborate with business data stewards to translate requirements into robust specs.
• Support data migration, mapping, profiling, and master data load using MDG tools.
• Troubleshoot workflow bottlenecks and resolve replication issues in production.

Job Summary-

We are seeking an SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Techno-Functional Consultant with 5 to 8 years of strong configuration and development experience to support our manufacturing domain. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and business governance processes. They will bring deep technical expertise in SAP MDG tools (ABAP OO, FPM, BRFplus, and Workflows) combined with a solid functional understanding of core manufacturing master data objects - specifically Material Master (MDG-M) and Business Partner/Supplier (MDG-S).

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design, configuration, and end-to-end implementation of SAP MDG Central Governance solutions, focusing onMDG-M (Material)andMDG-S (Supplier/Business Partner).
• Configure and customize dynamic approval workflows usingRule-Based Workflows (RBW), including complex user agent determination rules.
• Design and implement custom validations, derivations, and checks usingBRFplus (Business Rule Framework plus)and MDG BAdIs.
• Develop and customize user interfaces usingFloorplan Manager (FPM)and Web Dynpro ABAP , ensuring custom fields are seamlessly integrated into standard MDG UIs.
• Configure theData Replication Framework (DRF)to replicate governed master data to downstream S/4HANA systems and external manufacturing applications viaSOA Services (Enterprise Services), ALE/IDocs, and RFCs.
• Develop custom technical solutions utilizingObject-Oriented ABAP (ABAP OO), standard MDG APIs, and enhancement frameworks.
• Collaborate with business data stewards, manufacturing experts, and supply chain analysts to translate business requirements (such as material classification, plant-specific views, and vendor compliance) into robust technical specifications.
• Support data migration, data mapping, profiling, and master data load activities using standard tools (such as SAP MDG Consolidation & Mass Processing).
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis on workflow bottlenecks, and resolve replication failures in production environments.

• Proven capability to operate in a hybrid techno-functional capacity, comfortable writing code and interacting directly with business stakeholders.

Preferred skill sets:

• Experience with SAP MDG Consolidation and Mass Processing scenarios.
• Familiarity with the integration of SAP MDG with downstream manufacturing execution systems (MES), PLM, or SAP Ariba/IBP.
