Job summary

Pace Digitek Infra is seeking an experienced HVAC & Thermal Lead Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of thermal management for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will oversee HVAC and cooling system design, thermal analysis, validation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure reliable, efficient cooling solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in HVAC/thermal design, experience with BESS or data center cooling, and a strong grasp of standards such as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's in Thermal/HVAC preferred.
• 5+ years of HVAC/thermal design experience for storage or similar systems.
• Experience with heat load calculations, CFD, and thermal validation.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and thermal systems for BESS containers and enclosures.
• Perform heat load calculations, sizing, and airflow management.
• Lead air-cooled and liquid-cooled BESS thermal systems development.
• Review CFD and thermal analysis reports and documentation.
• Design coolant circuits, piping layouts, and support testing.
• Coordinate with Electrical, BMS, PCS, EMS, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams.
• Support qualification, FAT, commissioning, and root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, UL and related standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support new product initiatives.

The candidate will be responsible for HVAC and cooling system design, thermal analysis, product validation, and coordination with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable and efficient cooling solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC and thermal management systems for BESS containers and battery enclosures.
• Perform heat load calculations, cooling system sizing, airflow management, and thermal performance optimization.
• Lead the design and validation of air-cooled and liquid-cooled battery thermal management systems.
• Review thermal analysis reports, CFD simulations, and engineering documentation.
• Design coolant circuits, piping layouts, and support pressure testing and reliability improvements.
• Coordinate with Electrical, BMS, PCS, EMS, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams.
• Support product qualification, FAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, UL, and other applicable industry standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support new product development initiatives.
