Job summary

Magnum Technology Center in Coimbatore District is seeking an experienced HVAC Draftsman. The role involves preparing HVAC layout drawings and equipment arrangements using CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2-3 years of experience in EPC projects within the oil and gas sector.

Familiarity with heat load calculations and good understanding of HVAC design concepts are essential, as well as the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

Role & responsibilities

Prepare HVAC layout drawings, ducting, piping, and equipment arrangements using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). Develop detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings. Interpret and work from P&IDs, GA drawings, and engineering specifications. Coordinate with mechanical engineers, process teams, and other disciplines (electrical, structural, instrumentation). Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, API, project specs). Perform heat load calculations and assist in HVAC system sizing (if required). Update drawings based on site changes and red line markups. Maintain proper documentation and drawing control as per project requirements. Support procurement by preparing material take-offs (MTOs).

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 2-3 years experience as HVAC Draftsman. Experience working on EPC projects in oil & gas. Familiarity with 3D modeling and clash detection tools (SolidWorks / Navisworks). Experience with modular/skid-based HVAC systems. Good understanding of HVAC design concepts, symbols, and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.). Ability to read and interpret mechanical and architectural drawings.
