Job summary

Alramz Design Private Limited is seeking an HVAC Designer to be based on-site in Trivandrum. You will design HVAC systems, perform load calculations, select equipment, and prepare layout drawings in coordination with MEP disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years of hands-on HVAC design experience, preferably in interior fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, load calculations, duct sizing, and coordination with MEP.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for various building types and prepare load calculations and layouts.
• Select equipment and size ducts/ piping ensuring code compliance and energy efficiency.
• Prepare HVAC shop drawings, technical submissions, material submittals and consultant documents.
• Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines to meet quality, cost and schedule targets.

Role Description

The HVAC Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Trivandrum. The role involves designing HVAC systems for various building types, preparing load calculations, equipment selection, and layout drawings in coordination with other MEP disciplines. The HVAC Designer will review project specifications, ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, and contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Daily tasks include working closely with the engineering team, updating designs based on client and authority feedback, and supporting the preparation of technical documentation and drawings. The role also includes collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in HVAC Design, preferably within the UAE.
• UAE Interior Fit-Out experience will be strongly preferred.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in commercial, retail, F&B, hospitality, office, or other Interior Fit-Out projects will have a significant advantage.
• Strong practical knowledge of HVAC design, cooling/heat load calculations, duct design, chilled water systems, ventilation, fresh air, and exhaust systems.
• Hands-on experience in equipment selection, duct sizing, pipe sizing, pressure drop calculations, and HVAC system design.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary MEP coordination within interior spaces.
• Experience preparing HVAC shop drawings, technical submissions, material submittals, calculations, and consultant approval documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP and other HVAC design/calculation software is an added advantage.
